selling a car.....(need help)
If NY is like Mass if the car doesnt pass inspection you gotta buy it back. I would assume with a blown motor it has at least a check engine light.
That will not pass inspection and he could destroy the car worse and you'd have to take it back..

It was all good. The buyer was all set either way. As long as you say parts/as is it's legit in MA. I assume it's the same in other states.
I wasn't as concerned when I knew who was buying it.

Mass has a private party lemon law. It doesn't matter if you write 'as-is' or 'no warranty' on the bill of sale, you are still liable. You have to write in the known defects on the bill of sale.

I did that initally. I worte something like due to unknown motor problems.
Didn't matter much sine the buyer has already re-built!! I was toild 3 of the 4 pistons were cracked and the 4th was just blown apart. I was glad to hear the upgraded to manely pistons and it's running great!!
