hey speak for yourself I run 275 radials 
You can get it down on a good surface like MIR (or rather MIRs great surface) on a drag radial. Last year we had a high 9 second Supra go a 1.40 60" at this race
We also have some 26" ET Drags also if you need, Hecox goes 1.3's on them with a 9 second manual trans NMRA car. Might find you wouldnt be giving up anything.

ya i talked to mt, said what to do. no slipper clutch dont run a radial with a stick. run the 26 etdrag.
but dont think im gona buy a set of tires for one race, and gears, and set the car for lower ride height. if i couls run 28x10.5 i would go for sure, that all i run. i would really love to race at this, but a lot of work and money for one race. the rules of the motor street are great, other then the tire limit. i'd add weight or something? EVERY fast camonly 6speed fbody runs the 28x10.5 stiff. I know snurffLSx said the same thing, and some other guys on YB

Can probably get you a deal on 275s, or a good price on the 26 Drags, they only have 2 race days on them I think, could pick them up very reasonable and can get them mounted for you. Hell I could have them waiting on my Billet SPecialties so you could bolt them on and get to testing and when race is over I could break them down take tires with ya

Its a new class, but if I had to guess most of the cars will be in the 11s and top field will prob be in the high 10s. Thats just my guess though, I have a buddy thats running his cobra in the class. He has been 10.6s in race trim, has to run street trim/ no bigs n littles etc.. so he is looking at low 11s maybe a 10.9.
BTW my car is nowhere being done, sucks but since its down I'm just going to throw my trick flow heads on it that have been collecting dust...oh well I'm just gonna watch.

I talked to Jason and he asked me to clear some things up on the heads. you can run any of the following castings 241, 243, 317, 706, 799, 853, and 862 on any of the ls shortblocks(Stock) The Ls2 and Ls3 heads are only allowed on IRS cars. The heads are allowed a valve job but no material can be removed(porting, polishing, milling etc).
So the answer is yes an "as cast 243" is allowed on your car.

I wouldnt mind throwing some 243s heads on my car but If I'm going through the hassle of swaping heads I might as well put my trick flows on unless someone out there wants to trade my trick flow heads for a 9in or 12bolt rear. Just throwing that out there in case anyone is reading this...lol

i wish I could make it to this... Dont know what side I would take, owning a import now but trying to buy a CTS-V....
