Says who?

When I back it up it is going to be a 9.5xx or quicker.

Maybe this year.

I just need to get new tires, both sets I brought were shot.

I think there's a 9.4 in the car right now without too many more changes (maybe a tire swap and a slight change to how the nitrous is brought in) but in all honesty it could even have an 8.9x in it (once LOL ) if you threw everything you have at it, But that's not a smart thing to do to a championship contending car or your wallet.
Of course until it actually happens it didn't happen so for now a 9.6 is what it is.
Congrats dude.

It's an ECS build. Stock cube LS2, TF heads and Novi 2000 blower.
The throttle position on EFI Live is set at 68% (I think that's the % Frank told me)
Frank claims anymore than that, he just blows the tires off.
He doesn't even leave off his th400 T-brake.
Say's he's going straight axle next year so he can turn it up.

Oh man, and all this time I'd thought it was an iron block LOL...I was wondering how he'd gotten the car so light with that big iron block up front, that's because it doesn't have one.
Damn, those supercharged 364s are really gettin' it done.

I know what your saying, it does sound funny.
I do know Frank wanted to take baby steps with his new motor and the throttle % was cut way back in the begining.
I also know it has been increased since then.
How much? I don't know, it's just hear say from Frank.

It was a close race and very entertaining.

Personal Bests for both cars.

Now I wonder if LS1Tech is ever going to put me in the 9 Second Club?
Maybe my 9.95 back in October wasn't good enough?
Wow, congrats! You ran the same MPH as a stock engine with your forged 427 though? Both impressive, I'm just surprised.

Might as well make it 69%, it just sounds better.

Jay is right, it's at 68% the GTO it an IRS heavy car Not bad for a season best of 9.03@155.96 we should be running in the 8.80s so we will see next season....

Yes, it does seem a little odd (though that supercharged stock engine does also have a blower cam as well, however little that helps) but in general a blower car will always trap higher than a nitrous car all else being equal of course (which in this case it isn't LOL).
Also keep in mind that a stock rotating assembly almost always weighs less than a forged one, again only a minor gain in the stock bottom end's favor when you're talking about boosted or nitrous situations of course.
Anonymous's car was not hitting the spray right at the line (potential traction issues) and even when it did come in it was slowly ramped in from there.
The car should go MUCH quicker/faster if he gave it all it's got.

Frank tried to turn it up alittle at a rental on November 1st it just blows the tires off here are a few vids, turned it back down and it went 9.25 @ 155 and a 9.24 @ 154.

There is no suspension adjustabilty in the GTO at all except for air bags and tire pressure i am sure Franks motor in a F-body would be an easy 8.50 car

Turned up not hooking

Turned up not hooking again

turned back down 9.25 @ 155 (irs gto mph record)

No sure what you are saying? but...

LS1LT1 sort of explained it.

Allow me to clarify. I only gave Shawn enough to beat him.
Shawn's car is on the edge, you can't get much more out a stock 346 short block.
Just ask Doug or Shawn himself. He could have turned it up more, but they feared losing the engine.
I think his car holds the stock short block record? At least that is what I was told? I don't follow that stuff.
Smaller motors are more efficient in forced induction applications and you don't need big cubes to make good power.
Besides the cam, Shawn is also spraying Meth which holds down detonation.
So his limit, is the limit of the stock pistons/rings and rods.
A stock crank can take 1000 HP.
But I don't know how much more you want out of his car?

My ZO6 on the other hand was barely breathing heavy.
No where near the edge.
I didn't use the trans brake.
The nitrous didn't even come in until after the 60' mark and then on top of that, I ramped it in over time.
I would guess that the full 200 wasn't flowing until about the 330.
That is when Shawn said I came around him, which makes sense if you watch the video.
(my car is designed to run a 2 stage 400 shot)
Also, that was the first time I ever shot the car with 200.
I had only shot it once before with a 100 shot. (Again with the delay and timer)

On top of that, I was also short shifting the car. (about 6300 rpm)
I have a Turbo 400 conversion which sounds impressive, but in reality, only slows the car down.
Turbo 400's eat HP, ask anyone. It is there for reliability.
My T400 is rated to hold 2000 HP in a door car, it is ultra heavy duty and very expensive.

Also as stated, Blower cars typically back half (MPH) better and N2O cars front half better.
(My N2O was barely on for the front half.)

Shawn's car is very impressive but in reality, should be no match for my car.
Shawn's car is fast for what it is and I was sandbagging.
We wanted a close race and that's what we delivered.
I don't know what else to tell you?

My biggest challenge is getting the car to hook.
If I could get my ZO6 to hook, it would be an 8 second car.

However, that is a big IF.
But I have 8 second HP.
