Default How to add SLP air box/ ram air?

Ok...this is going to be probably a SUPER stupid question....but im going to ask anyways lol.

I am looking to install the slp style intake and ram air on my 94 z28. I am installing a carb L92, and instead of running a traditional air filter (since there's no room in the cowl area anyways)....I want to run a 3.5-4" elbow off the carb air bonnet into an oem style box with a high flow lid and air filter.

Essentially I am looking to do the same thing as someone posted in my other thread but with a carb....
https://ls1tech.com/forums/carburete...x-4th-gen.html

My question is WHAT do i need to pick up? Is it basically a stock 98-02 air box with a high flow lid? Do the ram air setups work? Does anyone on here have the parts I would need to install this?

Thanks in advance. New to the lsx/ f-body cars.

I would think a LS1 type radiator hold down (NON ram air) and then a SLP lid. IF you do not have a Ultra Z hood or something to take advantage of the front air gap, then get something to block the gap and allow the filter to grab from the bottom.

I have what is called a SLP flow pack and it works, nothing crazy but a sheet metal duct that draws air from the bottom. After you lift the filter off you see how the duct draws right infront of the A/C thingy.

FYI if you get a ram air one, the gap is bigger then the NON ram air and I am thinking with your hood, you do not need it, nor need to spend extra cash. Just get the NON ram air and get either a SLP duct or a Super Sucker (google it)

you're only in wallingford huh?

I dont think thats too far from me (springfield ma).

So when you guys keep referring to the SLP lid, does that just sit on-top of an oem air box from 98-02?

Would something like this scoop work with the stock box and slp lid?

The lid just sits on the top, yes. Very nice fit among all the other companies.

The duct that I was using was specifically designed for non ram air cars.
