Doubt you will hit 500 with a 243 head on 11:1 compression.

Cartek Performance Engineering (www.cartekracing.com) is well known for their awesome cylinder head machining/port work and assembly with proven results and is probably less than a one hour drive from you.

Do yourself a big favor... Avoid the headache give AFR/Trick Flow a call... You can spend X amount of dollars on a set of heads and have them ported... In the end you really dont know what the hell you got. And if you remove them you will never even get to close to what you might have into them. Nice heads and you can pull off and flip them if you change your mind.

^^^^good advice^^^^^

where the hell were you 18 months ago? truth be told for what i spent on my stock runner 243's i could have almost bought a set of trick flows. granted my current setup seems to be decent and the valve train is set up right not just thrown together. if i could do it again i would have gone with an aftermarket head

Look at Cartek heads and the price of them... UGHhhh... Do they make numbers yes they have made numbers. What the hell are they really worth once they are off the car???? You would be a fool to spend that kind of money of a set of ported 243 heads when you can buy top notch AFR or Trick-Flow heads that hold there value and are a much stronger casting with a thicker deck... I just dont understand why people do it. For the price of an aftermarket head vs a stock casting that you spend money porting it just doenst make any sense.

Scratch that the only guys that are going to do better than the aftermarket choices are going to be expensive than mass produced stuff, youll be a few grand into to start.
