its still fixable though...good thing this wasn't an iron block or it would be scrap...at least aluminum blocks can be welded up.

If not for the all the other quality reasons I'm going aluminum block next, the above statement is a MAJOR reason i love the aluminum race block over the LSx. Let's not even get into weight distribution, haha.

I think i'd be a walking zombie if what happened to you happened to me. That, or I'd have a plane ticket to BS3headquarters the next day with my block as checked baggage to put through the front window.

Probably way to early to tell-->Any changes planned with the downtime? I know you JUST got her running, but wow that's alot of downtime. Maybe some weight to shave off the car somewhere?

Jesus Brian that does suck.. it's not as ugly as I thought it was going to be honestly when you told me what happened.......

NO mater what... I'd be looking to try to find a way to get BS3 out of the car at this point and stay as far from that **** as you can. I know Eric had something happen with the XFI in his procharged car that did a similar thing with the timing, but I think that issue was actually found and fixed so it won't happen again...

Don't tell Bill Lutz! I assume you have the car insured anyways? Might be a good time to think about it.

Yea,

The way I see it, only a Holley or XFi 2.0 should ever touch that car.

From what I looked into it, it's very similiar to a collector car type insurance. Obviously the risk of you wrecking one is greater in ODR than a bracket car, but it all depends on how much actual coverage you take. Then again, I don't own a ODR car so i didn't get "that" price quote. I do wonder....they were hyping his insurance up at the SGMP Radial Revolution this year. Would your motor have been covered under any of his insurance options? It's obviously hindsight, but that would be ackward to turn in that claim! haha.

As for Holley, it seemed to do well at some of the local DR races i've seen so far. There's also a small handful of local cars running it, but nothing i've personally seen in the upper power range that could really tax the software limits. It was however on more than a few cars at the SGMP Radial Revolution race. I, like you, have my doubts about it coming out of the woodworks and being every bit as quality as XFi or BS3. Then again, BS3 lost a customer for life from me with what you and a couple others with similiar issues have been through.

This is not an attempt at taking shots at ANYONE but u have to understand something about tuning a vehicle which I am sure Brian knows.....U can NOT take a known tune from one setup, download it and expect everything to jive all the time.

U also cant take the old software and transpose it to the new software and have it always work correctly.

U MUST CHECK CHECK CHECK or bad things can happen.

U must find someone knowledable to help with the setup, tuning.
GOD KNOWS IT AINT ME, I'M A JACKASS

Personally I really bad for Brian, he is a real good guy and vey humble.
He is in capable hands and I look forward to seeing him out there competing.

I know how much it cost to mantain this kind of car and it is NOT CHEAP.
I for one applaud him and his crew for there fortitude and I know Brian will be in the winners circle soon
