My car for the 2011 season

I'm making travel limiters right now to help with the wheelie problem. I'm worried they might take too much weight transfer out...... I'm building them with plenty of adjustment. Just need to find out where a good starting point is, as far as amount of travel.

I'm thinking about new wheels or powder coating these. Polished wheels are a PITA! Had the car scaled last year, with the weight distributed within 3 pounds to each rear tire. It hooks hard so I'm glad to have some ground clearance up front.

Well this year started the way last year ended....I broke it. Not sure what exactly yet, but it sounds like a rod bearing. Pretty disappointing to break on the first track outing of the year.

The motor is an ls2 402,lunati rods, mahle pistons and a dragonslayer crank....It was a used texas speed shortblock that I got ..... I'm learning that the stock oil pan and hard launches can cause issues. We are guessing during launches the motor is starving for oil. Don't take long to kill bearings that way

Well if all goes as planned we are pulling the motor next weekend. If things aren't too torn up I'm gonna get some billet rods and good pistons to add some more compression. Also to withstand more power in the future. Then put a trap door baffle in the pan and add an accumulator for more insurance.
Gonna send the converter out to yank and have it tightened a bit while I'm down too. The plan is to make it last and consistantly run 8's. It should be a little faster when it comes back out. If nothing else I will have piece of mind knowing the bottom end is solid..............
