Default Clutch suggestions??

I will be ordering a clutch in the next couple weeks. Have been leaning towards the textrailia...Anyone have it here? Any other suggestions?

Also...Should I stick with my Fidanza flywheel or switch to a billet? Looks like the textrailia comes complete with billet flywheel and all...was thinking of just using that. People say the fidanza is too light...any input??

Thanks guys...much appreciated as always

wow those RPS clutches are big money, they do look sweet though. $1700 for a clutch set up is probably a little more than I would like to spend or need for this car. I will check into Mcleod I have always heard good things about them.

lol nice chicken

I have a Textraila and from the exp I have seen from people who cannot street drive, and this clutch seems to eliminate MANY problems. Basically you CAN slip it and it will handle good power.

Been using it going on 3 years and has driven beautifully. I use their fly wheel. I am a firm beleiver in having some weight in the FW as it create inertia and does not increase the chances of a Bog/Spin situation and you do not need to tach up the throttle just to leave from a stop light. Aluminum FW have their place, IMO its not in a street car and really not in a 1/4mi stock weighted car.

i curently have a Text in my car now and its the second one. only reason its the second 1 though is b/c i blew the stock motor and was in the process of putting everything back together so i went and got a new text. they both have worked flawlessly with better than stock pedal feel..no chatter or anything even during break in and its been holding tremendous amounts of power...you also dont need to run an adjustable master with it.

another option would be Monster....their stage 3 clutch has been working great for a few friends of mine and might be the route i take next.

Monsters are hit and miss in quality. I wouldnt buy another one personally.

McLeod Rxt had a great feel, but pulled it after 200 miles and switched to automatic.

I put over 700hp through a McCloud clutch. Lasted a year w/ eleventy billion passes on it.

I currently have a SPEC III in my car. The peddal pressure it good and the clutch has held up over 2 years with only a few passes but over 800hp.

PM 02SCVETTE

We just ripped out his old Textrailia with probably 20k on it because he thought it was too aggressive for him and we replaced it with another textrailia a little more street friendly.

Anyways I forget the one he put in, but he likes it, plus we got that other one kicking around if you wanted it he'd practically give it to you it was in decent shape and it will hold whatever you throw at it, just really sticks when cold.

Z-Grip is Metallic Friction on both sides.
X-Grip is Metallic on one and Organic on the other.

I ran a Tex OZ700 for about 4 years starting when they first came out. It was a great street clutch for me, very easy to drive, stock-ish in nature. Held up to a good bit of abuse at the track when I ran all motor, took a lot of launches off the limiter on slicks. However when I added a 100 shot, about a third of the time I would have issues with it slipping when grabbing 4th. They claim 700 lb-ft holding, I think that might be a bit ambitious. Though that was on stock hydraulics, FWIW, so that could have been contributing.

I installed a Monster S3 with a Tick master last year. It's held up well so far but I never got to make a pass out of the setup last year so it remains to be seen what abuse it takes. I'd say it's almost as easy to drive on the street, has a good engagement/disengagement feel to it with the new hydraulics.
