Default Looking for advice in what heads to go with

I'm going with a custom grinf 232/240 .618 .624 114 cam. Looking for a set of heads in the 800-1200 range. Also will be selling my 243's if I buy a set of heads.

I've also had the option on sending mine out to Advanced Induction for 800 to get them ported.

Looking for advice.

Id send the 243s to AI and have them done. You wont find a good aftermarket head for 800-1200 but youll see some good gains from AIs 243s.

Thumbs up

Properly ported/polished 243s are great heads, even if you're not looking to do a budget type of set up.
I would just get your 243s done up nice.

Yup for a grand can't beat some nice 243's, mill em' down a bit and they should give you some solid gains.

I have a set of Rapid stage II heads for sale. Would sell them to you for $800~they are over $2000 new. Look them up on their site, they have a dyno sheet with these heads.

This is what I would do. Do a search in the dyno section on AI.

What about a Patriot 5.3l Stage 2.5 heads?

I have heard of good gains with them.

Any one got any info, good or bad on them?

Thanks

I'd rather get PRC 5.3 heads from Texas speed.

Thats what I meant. I always get the 2 mixed up but I would get them from Texas Speed. I have their MS3 cam and really like it.

So you think they are a good head?
Thanks

Yeah they seem to put down good numbers for the $. Your other option it to talk to slowhawk. He uses a similar head in his budget builds and they always make numbers. (might even be the same ones)

I haven't been keeping up on the ls cylinder heads for a while but last I checked the Patriot heads were some kinda welded head to ls6 specs but not a true 243.

Anyways those PRC's seem to make good numbers on this board. Your other options are gonna cost you twice as much, AFR, Trickflow etc...
The fact of the matter si thos 5.3 or well worked 243's milled will make some kickass power on a budget.
