Default X275 at NED April 30th results

What a nice day of racing today, 7 cars showed up to do battle and it could of been anyones game today.

Thanks to the following:

Dez Racing
DMC Racing
Slowhawk Performance
NE Dragway
Mickey Thompson Tires

Now onto the race results for those that missed todays event.

1st round Qualifying in order:

Bill Meserve took the #1 spot in his new ride! A very impressive 5.88@123 on all motor. Bill was just trying to shakedown the car today.

Jim Coger had some shifting issues and pulled off a 5.95@108 letting off early.

Nick Arvenites came out hard and almost dragged the bumper, he saved it from getting hurt and manages a 6.41@98

Phil Wager in his 74 Duster decided to come out on motor for the 1st past, he ended up with a 6.944@98

Dave Dias who raced 2 classes today to support heads up racing at NED banged out a 7.33@93 all motor

Danny Reis who was sporting his Brother Steve's 91 S10 and first time on radials, blew the tires off and coasted to the line getting a 9.80@95

Kevin Volk with the freshly built trans had issues on the line, the trans break would not hold so Kevin blew threw the line before the lights dropped.

2nd round of qualifying in order:

Jim Coger frustrated after his 1st past in the car after a long break gets the shifting down and bangs out a 5.75@125 taking the #1 spot from Bill and winning the $50 fastest qualifier money. Great job Jim!

Kevin Volk had to resort to foot braking and managed a very impressive 5.80@120 to pull off #2 spot.

Bill Meserve the bracket racer comes back to back up his 5.88 in the first round with a 5.89@123

Nick Arventies took some power out to keep his front end down and it helped him muster a 5.99@120

Phil Wagner decided to spray alittle shot to see if the tires were going to hold and pulled off a 6.40@106

Danny Reis decided to turn the spray on alittle later, but the tires still didnt cooperate he gets the #6 spot with a 6.47@111

Dave Dias backs up his 7.33 past and ends up in the #7 position

1st round Eliminations:

Jim Coger gets the bye and shocks the competition with a 5.38@130 thanks to Mike Dez's fine tuning between rounds

Nick Arvenites lined up with Phil Voluster Wagner, Wagner put a bigger jet and it showed as he ran his best pass ever a 6.19@110 but Nick's car was on a rail and he was killing the tree with a .028 light and pulling off his best past of the day a 5.76@119

Kevin Volk the only contestant on a Mickey Thompson Radial foot brakes himself to a 5.86@119 to pull the win off against Dave Dias who ran a new best of 7.23@93 Thanks Dave for the support of X275 we all appreciate you coming out!

Bill Meserve was supposed to race the Reis Racing S10, but unfortunately a dead battery kept Reis from making it to the beams. Meserve takes the bye with a 6.06@122

Semi Finals:

Kevin Volk had to face the pleasure of racing his own customer Bill Meserve. Unfortunately for Kevin he was not aware that Bill was having issues staging and was thrown off especially when Bill accidently went into a Deep bulb. For Bill going deep paid off because he was able to pull off a .069 light vs Kevin's .223 on the footbrake. Bill ran a 5.91@126 with Kevin coming full steam ahead to run a 5.81@121 but it was not enough to catch Bill.

#1 qualifier Jim Coger came into the semi finals being feared by all after his killer 5.38 pass. He was faced with tough Nick Avernites who continued to kill the tree getting a .017 to Jim's .464. Ironically they both ran a 5.742 because Jim's car had issues getting into gear. Nick advances to the finals to face Bill in a All Motor battle!

Finals:

This final was looking to be very exciting seeing that both racers were running all motor and on 28" x 10" slicks. Nick being alittle better on the tree had the slight advantage. Unfortunately for Nick he tried to hard to cut that .000 light and ended up red lighting with a -.002 giving Bill the win in the finals. Bill was able to run a 5.87@126 to pull off his best run of the day.

Congrats to both Bill and Nick on their win and runner up.

Marco
