I did actually try that a couple times. Backed up in the water, pulled forward till I was outside the water, and did burnout out of the box still no luck. I probably should do it like that everytime anyway so water dosent get thrown up above the tires. I back up into the water so front tires dont get wet.
What about where I stage the car should I be staying out of peoples tracks?

first off, hal rear shocks can be your best friend.
2nd, at ned there is a groove. the best way to be sure your in the groove is there is a line in the concreat that is a split between 2 poorings. this is the center. if you line that groove up to the center of your car you will be in the groove and get the best traction.

Burnout sounds ok. Its all about wheel speed for a burnout. U want ur mph up. I am a a4 and i do my burnout in 2nd gear i get them spinning and dont stop until i see a good amount of smoke for 5 or so seconds. Ull get it

Suspension suspension suspension!

Torque arm in these cars are key, getting a body mounted torque arm will do wonders.

Also if your running a radial, do not do long burnouts they do not like heat! Short burnout just get them to start smoking. Ive been to drag radial races up and down the east coast and you will be shocked how short the fast guys do a burnout.

I recommend the hoosier 275/60 drag radial over the MT. Hoosier is a full 10" wide vs the MT that is a 9.50" and the hoosier is alot softer.

If you really want traction run a MT 325/50/15 on a 10"rim it fits fine in a fbody. You will have a 28" x 13.5" tire. Thats what I ran on my camaro, 1.33 60fts on the foot brake but again i had full suspension but still had stock shocks and springs, that tire liked 20 psi. Most guys in X275 run anywhere between 15-18psi in the 275s

Here's an example of a drag radial burnout...3 seconds tops and this is a 3000hp car!!! he gets 1.17 60fts..granted its a much bigger radial but just showing you dont need a long burnout.

Thanks for the advice guys. Would a bad trans mount happen to keep me from hooking properly? I have something loose/broken under the car now.
EDIT...Motor mount is shot
