Default Detailing: 2003 Audi RS6

This was a fun detail, a friend of ours picked up a 2003 Audi RS6 in an Ebony Black Pearl (originally owned a car we previously detailed: 2008 VW GTI ). It has lived most of its life in New England and its lovely winters!

The car has almost 100k miles but was in surprisingly good shape body wise and mechanically according to the records kept for the car. But we did find a major fail from the previous owner during the wash and subsequent correction… Let’s just say they let salt sit and sit and sit on the car (pics later)

Owner only had us do an exterior correction and he did the interior with a bit of help for a quick clean-up of an otherwise near perfect interior.

After 24man hours the outcome is an 8.5/10, front clip, roof, and rear decklid need some help in the clear coat department after all the salt puck marks , these require sanding to be removed and time did not allot for the additional effort needed to correct. The 3m pieces could use replacement, besides those few items we and the owner were quiet pleased with the results, car looks soaking wet and really shows off the color shift the paint undergoes in the light.

Lots of pics and I hope you enjoy!!!

EXTERIOR

BEFORE

You don’t see this everyday, solar panel in the sunroof. It is used to help keep the car cool on hot days.

You got to be kidding me!!!! No close afters but we did the best we could without removing the emblem but the heavy scratches are blended well…

Holograms :\

Hrmmmm…. Road salt?

Under the lights…

Not good Looks like the clear coat has been pitted severly…

Claybar’ing overall was pretty bad, car has likely never seen a clay bar until today… This is only part of a panel and most of the car was as bad or worse…

Lil’ 50/50 from when we were working out the process for the car…Left corrected – Right uncorrected

Heavy scratch in decklid.

Not removed but hidden very well.

Door getting ready for correction

Wow amazing work! Can I ask how much you charge for a Mid-Sezed SUV and an Escalade Truck?

Very sweet! My friend claybarred my monte on memorial day and we got all the rubber off and it changed the whole car. We spent 6 hours on it but it was so worth it!

Thanks, it means something to know a car is in good hands, I'm the same way about leaving my car places.

Those exhaust tips are part of an Audi optioned exhaust system. Its some type of black finish on them. So other than cleaning them up a bit its not something that can be polished.

I really liked this car, But I've always liked big sedans with lotsa power. This one sounds good too.

Thanks again guys, This was probably the worst car we clay bared this year, I think the previous owner never did anything to it and remember it had nearly 100k miles on it. Paint was pretty hard.
