Default X275 at NED July 16th Results

Thanks to the following sponsors for supporting X275 at NED

Dez Racing
DMC Racing
Slowhawk Performance
Mickey Thompson Tires

And we also had a new sponsor step up to help the racers earn their entry fee back, big thanks to Elite Automotive for their support. Congrats to Dave Dias on winning the drawing and getting his entry fee back.

On to the race

We had 4 new comers come out to support X275 so in total we had 9 cars attempting to qualify for the quick 8

Qualifying after 2 rounds

1. Bill Meserve -5.300@142.19 90 Mustang BBC N20

2. Nick Boudreau - 5.38@139.88 92 Mustang 88MM

3. Travis Johnson - 5.63@124.52 89 Mustang 88MM

4. Nick Arvenites - 5.85@119.22 70 Chevelle BBC N/A

5. Miles Pavao - 5.98@121.61 Mustang YSI

6. Jeff Taylor - 6.49@112.37 93 Mustang 76MM

7. Dave Dias - 7.38@92.59 79 Lemans N/A

8. Paul Cardoso - 7.97@91.86 00 Mustang T trim

9. Scott Ulman - DQ 93 Mustang 88MM

Qualifying notes

Bill Meserve set a new MPH record for the class by running 142.19 on his first hit...guess the new lexan hood scoop helped!

Nick Boudreau who was racing X275 for the first time and was out racing for the 1st time this season had a very impressive rd 2 qualifier with his 5.38@139

Travis Johnson who broke his 3 day old turbo Friday night testing, thrashed all night at the track to replace his turbo with his old one to compete Saturday morning. Unfortunately he still ran into issues with his wastegate and blow off valve.

Miles Pavao another new comer was trying X275 for the first time along with running the radials. Miles had a very impressive 1.33 60ft on his first pass in qualifying but ran into small issues during both his passes.

Paul Cardoso came out to support X275 for the first time also so we give him big props from coming out.

Scott Ulman made the long haul from Western CT to support the series. Scott has been thrashing on his car for the last couple weeks getting it ready for this race, they were still finishing the car when they arrived Friday night. Scott was able to make a pass even though they had major boost controller issues but the pass had to be Dqed due to being under weight. I am sure once Scott works out his issues, he will be a huge player in our series.

Round 1 Eliminations

#1 Bill Meserve took on #8 Paul Cardoso, Bill got off to a hairy start as he blew the tires and had to peddle the car as it was going side ways down the track. He managed to straighten out and get the win with a 5.99 to Cardoso's 7.86

#3 Travis Johnson faced off with #6 Jeff Taylor, Travis was battling boost issues all day but managed to pull off the win with a 5.72 to Taylor's 6.51

#4 Nick Arvenites who has to be one of the deadliest people on the tree I ever met. He smacked #5 Miles Pavao with a .011 light but broke a rocker stud halfway down the track. Miles who was getting used to the radials and how good they were hooking made a shifting mistake on the launch and could not get around Farrigno. The Big bad chevelle crawled to a 6.07 to Pavao's 5.81. Look for Pavao to be a player in future X275 at NED's events.

#2 Nick Boudreau took on X275 at NED's biggest supporter Dave Dias. Dias was able to tree Boudreau but unable to pull off the upset. Boudreau's boost kicked in and he was around Dias quickly. Boudreau runs 5.75@137 to Dias's 7.38

Round 2

Battle of the turbo cars for the semi finals. Travis Johnson vs Nick Boudreau, in first round both cars ran 5.70s so this was looking to be a killer semi final round. Johnson was able to catch Boudreau sleeping at the wheel and pulled off the win with a 5.70 to Nick's 5.46@138

Nick Arvenites broke a rocker stud in the previous round and looked like he was done for the day, but thanks to Travis Johnson and the help of some fellow racers he was able to get the car back in the lanes in time to face off with Bill Meserve.

Arvenites is always a threat with his killer reactions times, but his .057 light was not enough to beat Meserves 5.42@137. Big Props to Nick for not giving up!

Finals!

Here is the rematch from race #3. Meserve vs Johnson. Johnson was still battling issues with his boost, but made some changes to try and give Bill a race for his money. Meserve got the jump by cutting a .107 reaction time to Johnson's .191 his Nitrous kicked on and the track held and he was gone, Johnson peddled alittle bit and was chasing but could not catch Meserve. 5.36 to a 5.49 Meserve takes his 3rd win of the season and also set a new MPH record.

Congrats to Bill and his team on another win!

x275 is a really neat class...always fun to watch them down here at MIR. I see it's getting more popular in other places.

Just wish it was 1/4...
