well thats the best 28" tall tire you can run for AM. You can run a 26x11.5 slicks. But I run 28 tires 24/7. I looked into it, and would need to buy slicks thats size, different gears, intstall kit, fuild, install them. And a different spool, and bearing kit. Raise the back of the car up, (get non cut rear springs). Re-do the TA, pinion angle, and LCA for the new ride height. Change the speedo for the gears. Test all new parts, (this was right after the LSX shootout) Local track only had one day TnT day and it was packed and super muddy grass parking only.
That was all for this one race. It would have cost about $3,000 and a ton of late nights doing all the work. To run 26 slicks.
So it was easier to Just buy some used 275s local For $100 and lauch really easy ( and spin most of the time) and have the car be alot slower.
I talked to the mustang guys in AM that were running low 10's and they were running t5's becuse there were lighter weight, and 1st gear is alot better. I know t56 1st gear sucks for drag racing. And the 04 cobra I think he told me he cuts 1.2 60's I saw a pic he put in on the bumper sat. Said he runs a spec sg1 clutch, because it slips a little. Witch is perfect for drag racing, he doesn't street drive the car and racing in NMRA, Its a race car and hes really good at driving and the car is setup pefect. He talk me the car went 9.7 or a 9.8 a few week ago testing for WCF

ok first off....
Those mustang guys really have it dialed in and figured out. very cool cars. especially if they are doing it on a drag radial.
i never read the all motor rules so i was unaware of the tire rules. but jason is you are not allowing domestics to run slicks you wont see a high domestic car count for this class. i dont know of any fast NA guys that run DR's. i know one really fast N/A ltx who i do believe was considering coming down for this but he runs a 29" slick. he would of been right there with the mustang guys if not a lot faster. to be honest i cant speak for any other class but this class seems catered towards imports. im curious if all the classes are.
