I've done 2 Tough Mudders and 1 Goruck Challenge to date, and am doing the NJ event again in a few weeks so you'll be with pros![The Patriot !!](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_patriot.gif)
The teamwork and camaraderie I saw at this event and as you'll see in the photos was unlike anything I'd seen before.
More info about the event can be found here ( http://toughmudder.com/events/tri-st...11-course-map/ ), but it is modeled after British Special Forces training by actual members of the special forces, with 19 obstacles in 12 miles. Of course they added a few others in between some stretches of running so that we wouldn't be let down. About 25% didn't finish the event at all, and about 50% skipped at least one obstacle - The water obstacles were among the most popular to be skipped since the water was 37 degrees.
Our event alone raised just over $300,000 for the Wounded Warriors fund after costs. Numerous members of the armed forces participated or were otherwise present at the events (if you look, there's Marine's pushing anyone off the platform who was too scared to jump into the lake). If anyone would like to donate to the cause, here is the link to donate to Wounded Warriors (Neither my team nor myself gets anything for getting people to donate. The money raised goes straight to the Wounded Warriors Fund.)
This is how all the start groups began the competition, after the Tough Mudder pledge and the national anthem. This happened every 20 minutes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=426fkvs0_bc
