Ahhhhhh Snow!!!!!
What a joke, got like 24-28" Sunday morning.
I literally got the boat covered and motor fogged a couple hrs before it started, and then got the snow blower ready (belts, oil, etc) just in time. I still need to get the car off the road and get my inspection done for the year.
I guess this means no more detailing this year either
Too soon...

Yes, lots of power outtages in my area a little more east. Our Area was the one that got slammed 3 yrs ago, where we were out of power for 2 weeks in Jan. Our neighborhood did not lose power atleast this time.
Want to know whats sick. I mowed the lawn about 1 week ago.
Wife got called out of work, whole town has no power

We lost power for about 3 hours on Saturday night, not bad considering some are still w/o power this morning.
I have inside word from CL&P and they def did not anticipate this storm and did not hire extra crews or do anything before the storm. Word now is some people should be anticipating at least 10 days and some near 20. Depending on where you live and circumstances. Hopefully it wont be near that number but had they planned, it should have been a lot better.

I believe we got about 6" of snow. Over 21,000 power outages were reported in my county alone. Some still don't have power. Our's "blipped" a couple of times but we never lost it.
I hope this isn't a preview of what the rest of this winter will be like!

Wow that is a lot of snow. We got some flakes which is still pretty abnormal for october. Not sure how i feel about this. I want it to come so i can make some plowing $$$ but at the same time i just hate how miserable it gets outside.

You're probably actually better off with the zillion feet of snow you got, down here in the Pioneer Valley it was a lot less in inches but very dense, wet, sticky snow that left a mess of broken tree limbs everywhere. Of course many power lines went too, I had no power for a day and I was lucky, many people in my area are still in the dark (and cold). Problem was with there still being leaves on the trees it was that much more for the snow to stick to. I do property maintenance and pretty much all our properties are a mess, it will take weeks to clean it all up.

Not much into the snomobile thing though. Just another hobby to waste money on that you will barely utilize. I'd be more tempted to get a 4 wheeler though.
Winter time I pretty much hibernate. Nothing to do, its dark when I drive to work in the AM and dark when I leave work. This is the time of year I tend to just sit in front of the tv a lot, sucks.

I've been hearing reports of people causing fire damage to property because of improperly wired generators or running them without ventilation. Living in New England, people need to anticipate this stuff to some degree and atleast have a plan.
