I don't know what it means but it is a derrogatory term made up by shore people that they use to describe anyone who dares come to the shore beaches if they weren't born there.
Even if you live there but weren't born there, they still consider you unworthy.

Benny is a derogatory term used by year-round residents of the Jersey Shore to describe rude, flashy, loud, tourists from northern New Jersey and New York. While local residents appreciate the tourists' economic contribution, the term "Benny" specifically refers to only those unpleasant tourists that cut lines, drive recklessly, start fights, harass women, or deliver other disrespect.

I'm sure years back when they were all lined up on the pkwy with signs saying "go home benny's" as tourists were driving in they only meant those "specific" types you mentioned.
And the nice little anti-benny website they have going (at least they had little while back) only refers to the tourists who cut the line and "harass" women, lol

....and yes it is aimed at the obnoxious a-holes (for the most part) that look and act just like the "jersey shore " cast.
Other than that the only other thing that pisses me off, is sitting in bumper to bumper traffic every fri evening rush hour trying to go home. Can't you guys pick any other time to migrate? I mean, you can't possibly like sitting in that traffic either.
Oh btw, no I dont have one of those blue license plates lol. Man they are putrid.

I learned to not go anywhere until sometime after 7pm in the summer.
I've always wondered something....if you own a house in that area, but technically live elsewhere, and can be found at the shorehouse at times other than the summer....what are we considered?
