Default Big change for me...

Well, I've been laying low. I'm not one to run my mouth and make false claims. Back in Feb. when Zturd got the Cyber Grey ZR1 I had the chance to drive the car. Not a quick 15min ride, I helped him drive it down to Atlanta GA for a trade in.

After driving the car for 700+ miles, I was in love, hard core. Weighed the option of selling my 2000 FRC. Some of you know I owned that car for a LONG time. Put alot of blood & money into. So right after the Spring OC Hot Rod cruise I threw it up for sale to see what would happen.

3 days later, it was sold... I also had a 1976 Stingray that I didn't really drive or have the time for. Sold that...

In the mean time I was trying to patiently wait for a 09-10 ZR1 for the right price. Wasn't really set on a color as long as it wasn't red or yellow.

Fast forward to August, Deb & I left for Hawaii. Get home and Zturd sends me a link for a '10 Arctic White ZR1. I call the guy, figuring for the price he was asking it was long gone. AMAZINGLY, the guy still had it. Worked some #'s and bought my plan tickets.

So this past Friday, Zturd & I left for Denver CO. The gentlemen was older and looking to get into a GTR since he was having a hard time working the clutch.

Car was in great shape, clean, no super low miles 14k, but these cars are built to be driven. Signed the papers and became the proud owner of a 2010 ZR1. Then the nice LONG!!! ride home started. You can check out the thread that I had started on Corvetteforum documenting the ride home.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...ss-the-us.html

One last look at my FRC, a younger gentleman bought the car and has really been enjoying it.

Here is what everyone probally wants to see..... The new whip.

I'm looking forward to cruising down to the OC car shows and just enjoying the car in general. This one I will have to take to MIR and see what it really can do.

oh it was an adventure all right. I've helped Bruce get a few cars in the past couple of months. 3 of them were from Atlanta GA. So this one took the cake as far as distance.

It was pretty badass driving a ZR1 across the country. Would I wanna do it again... Probally not.

Never tracked the C5. Just didn't interest me, so I have no idea.

There is a pretty big difference. I'd say the biggest difference is the way they ride. The C5 was def. smoother, but the ZR1 is freaken TIGHT on handling & braking.

When I got on the Turnpike out near Pitt, it was a two handed, hold on, to keep the car on the road. ZR1 tracks the road pretty bad, if it finds a groove it just suck into and get bounced around.

The brakes are freaken crazy, you have to be aware that you can stop WAY faster then other cars. A light touch and your slowing down.
