Default Pa nj title question please help!

I am attempting to sell my 2004 ctsv to a guy in NJ (no liens or co owners). Im from PA and the car has a PA title. The potential future owner wants to drive the car home, but does not want to sign the title and notarize it. I do not want to let the car leave my possession still in my name. He says if we sign the title over and notarize it in PA he will have issues in NJ at the NJ DMV.

Does anyone have anything to say about this? Suggestions or knowledge would be appreciated...

thank you!

The only issues I could see him having is an inspection. Sounds like he is just trying to avoid that. Do not let him leave with it not signed or notorized.

Sounds odd to me unless he is a dealer. When I bought my SS in Pittsburgh, PA the owner and I went to the local AAA office and did all the paperwork, including the title notary and I signed it too. It was all done right there in PA. No problems here in NC. He also needs to bring his own tag too or else he can get a temp tag. Don't let him use yours.

I bought 2 cars from PA and did whatever was needed at the notary and had 0 issues getting it tagged in MD. Saved me from having to trailer both cars home too.

Sounds like he wants to flip the car without paying taxes or getting a new title....

X2....it sounds like he's trying to avoid taxes and probably has a buyer already lined up for the car.
