Norfolk/Virginia Beach Area
I'm sorta new to the area and stationed on the Bush (CVN 77) and have always driven around base seeing other f-bodys. Was wondering where to meet some local Camaro/WS6 drivers around the area, are there any meet & greets or car shows going on??

Its like 20 miles. I use to comute from NN to *** and it took 20-30 mins in normal traffic.
You might want to check out the tidewater trans am club as well. They do meets every month that include firebirds and camaros. They are also affiliated with the other car clubs in the area so you can get more info on them as well.

Hey, I try to go to every meet around here. I'm on ***, is that where you're stationed? I drive a Black SS with a chrome front grill and a loud GMMG exhaust. Hope to see your white SS on base; I like the CME.

I plan on doing headers/full exhaust here next within a month or two once it starts to get warmer... how do you manage to have an ORY in VA? Are your tags registered in another state? That's the one thing that sucks about having my car registered here in the state of VA! Is these damn inspections... I'm thinking about gutting a pair of cats and slapping em on a Y pipe to make an ORY legal haha... does the base auto shop have any welding equipment though??

As to the no cats. You just have to know a guy who knows a guy who knows a shop if you know what I mean. There are a few of us LS guys, Camaros, TA, Goats, anything LS really, we have a facebook page were we try and set up meets, pass news, all the good stuff if you're interested.

I am registered in MS. I would suggest just going ahead and getting cats to cut down on the noise and exhaust smell. It's not bad, but I would go back and get ARH headers and catted Y. The base hobby shop has no welding equipment. What do you need to weld?

I hate the extra hassle of VA laws, but didnt want to get stuck with TNs 10% sales tax on my SS! I was going to need the cats welded back together if I cut them open to gut, but I just might take your advice and not do it... I have QTP LTs on my Z and absolutely love them, but not paying another $900+ for stainless when coated will do the job and produce the same sounds. Just haven't figured out which headers I want to go with yet? Thinking about Kooks black coated headers... what I really need is a garage for storage and a hose/outlets so I can detail lol these spray car washes SUCK!!!
