Question for you NH guys, I'm transferring up there the end of this summer for work and I'm kinda concerned about my car passing inspection up there. In mass with a obd2 plug in inspection you are allowed one not ready status for the car to pass with obviously no CEL on. I was poking around on the NH DMV web sight last night and they state that all monitors must be in readiness status. I'm kinda concerned because my car will be CLSD tuned this spring and my car has a off road y pipe. I'm not concerned about the visual portion as much as the obd2 test. Can any of you guys up there shed some light on this for me? Thanks in advance for your replies!

Even CLSD you can get all the monitors to go ready.

As mentioned, you can get all the readiness codes to be "ready" but how do you pass with active MAF failure codes for speed density? Or do you run a custom speed density OS?

Even with a custom OS (HPT) you typically need the MAF failed to force SD. My 2000SS with a customOS runs fine with if not failed so being paranoid I "unfail" for testing.

But if you "unfail" the codes in the tune, don't you need the actual MAF in the intake to drive the car to the inspection station?

I tried that once by putting all the codes back to stock but leaving the MAF out of the car and it didn't even want to run, just kept dying. So now I'm forced to put the MAF back in to pass and then I take it right out for the rest of the year.

It will pass no problem as is. It's 2 not ready's to fail.

So you can be CLSD tuned and have no MAF and still pass a OBD2 plug in? Is that what you guys are saying? I know mass allows 2 not ready statuses to pass, but NH allows none.?(if I read their site correctly). I'm confused! Lol!!

No because in order to be in SD you have to have MAF fail codes, which will show up in the OBD2 test.

but NH allows none.?
We're saying regardless of tune type (SD, MAF, mixed etc.) you can easily have ALL readiness statuses be ready, so even in NH that portion will pass. Now I'm not sure about the SD thing, because like I mentioned that AFAIK requires codes being active.
