I hate depending on my Boss,he's a great guy but its not his concern to let me borrow his truck or drag me around all the time.I want my own truck,I think if I wait til June or July I'll be able to buy a used Diesel.

I know you'r a GM guy but you should look into a powerstroke. I have had ford and chevy trucks with the big gas motors and they dont even come close to a Powerstroke.
Just trying to help you out.

my next car purchase will be a Diesel, both buddies of mine have F250 and f350, the trucks tow so nice. Not to mention the 4 wheel drive launches off the footbrake are sweet

Ford rides like ****,Twin I-beam is out of the stone age..It'll be GMC if I go truck,I loved my 1 Ton Ford E350 but it rode worst than my car

Diesel will get better mph and thats important,I should be able to get a 01 2500HD for under 18,000 with miles. They run forever so I figure I should just wait it out and use the boss instead

I think the Turbo setup will make your 6.0 a beast Noyz...
I'm still thinking hard about a 2500HD w/the 6.0 as its a great truck and I figure I dont race my car all that much,I can get away w/a 6.0 for most of my towing......

Hey Noyzee. My last truck I bought in june of 04 and just sold it about a month ago. I put on 31000 miles

I wish I had the money I spent on gas in the past 6 months.

Not in NJ Brian.....And they get better mph than a gas engine plus they'll run forever...
I dont want much,just a 2500 HD diesel but I'll probably end up with a 6.0

Found a clean 68K miles 1994 K1500 Ex Cab Silverado w/the 5.7 in it and loaded with options,Leather, tilt, cruise etc...Wonder how this would tow an open trailer/car?

$8500.00....

I also found
1995 K1500 Ext Cab Silverado SLE 5.7 all buttons and clean,99k miles

$7500.00

joel I had a 1996 tahoe with the 5.7, then the 2003 z71 tahoe 5.3L, the 2003 escalade with a 6.0 and now the Avalanch 5.3Land I would have to say that I dont see a big difference between the 6.0 and the 5.3. But they definatly pull harder then the 5.7 tahoe did.

JS, I'd also consider a dodge.. with a diesel. Should be able to find one for a decent price. Just get a 2000 + model year, they changed to the better tranny's after that. The 6 speed manual is also very good too, I know a few people using those to tow 10000 lb boats in hilly vermont, no problems at all even after 3 years and 150K plus. My .02
