Yeah we were there last Sunday and heard that they were doing that, didn't think they were doing it this quickly though.
But does this mean that all that sticky rubber base has been peeled up though?
Us DR guys need that VHT saturated rubber to hook on those cold days.

Honestly, track resurfacing is not always a good thing. I have seen a few times where a good hooking track went to crap Permanently after it was resurfaced. The real problem with Atco are the ripples at the top end.
Just ask anyone that is going fast or has a short wheelbase car or a motorcycle. The only comfortable ride at Atco is a Rail.
Don't get me wrong, If you want a personal best in NJ go to Atco, but it could take a full season for that first 400' to work in.
Just a fair warning. I could be wrong, but I could be right too?

Not totally true....
The guys that did the track were supposed to be known for redoing tracks from what I heard?
Atco had a problem (cracks and ruts) about 350FT after the concrete pad (Right Lane)
Atco had a problem about 400 FT (humps) after the concrete pad
(LEFT LANE)
Return road was ***.....
Its nice to know one of the owers personally and have him tell me what the main problems were,I believe they are also putting in concrete barriers now but I forgot to confirm this with him...And a new pad and burn out area resurfacing...
Lastly I do agree,A track thats been resurfaced can be bad but once they get some good rubber down and if its prepped properly (U wont have to worry about that,Ned runs a 200+ MPH IHRA TS Firebird and that track will be groomed perfectly) it should hook like glue...
I cant wait for March,Hopefull by the rental we'll have some rubber down.
Ned is also starting a new class (Heads Up) for TOP SPORTSMAN TYPE cars,He had 2 dates so far with a weight penalty for power adders and a min race weight of 2350 and only converter type transmissons..
Again some of this is my opinon and some factual info from the co owner of the track.Just wanted to put that out there so I dont get insulted again

Since they didn't tear down the wall I would guess NO.
Hey listen, I am very happy that Atco is putting money into the track. It is just sometimes you have to take a step back before you can take two steps forward. Just don't be pissed if you can't match your best 60's this season.
JS is right, there was a drop off a few hundred feet out that did disturb big power cars and bikes. It unsettled the chassis while still planting the tires pretty hard.
I however didn't have that problem with my camaro.
I do feel it however, on my dragbike.
I am praying it works out perfectly.
is there any way you can put in the good word to spray some VHT down there, I was there friday nite and Im only hitting 2.1 60' w/ DRs 295s and Im slipping the clutch from 3k since I still have the stock rear. The traction is still horrible

match race at 10.15 FORD VS GM will post soon;
