Default People with non-stock rears in here.

Ive been looking around, and Ive pretty much narrowed down my decision to a 9 inch with a locker, or a 12 bolt with a spool.

Reason being that I have 3 channel and the 9 inch would cause me to ditch the ABS. The car isnt a daily, I just need something that is going to handle stock motor with 125 shot launching on slicks.

So that would leave me with a 12 bolt and a spool, because the posi units are pretty unreliable still.

So what are the pros and cons of each....major concerns being not having ABS on the street, or riding around on a spool on the street.

Im not picky at all when it comes to drivability either.

9" probbly be the best bet unless you really want abs to work regardless which with a spool and it not relasing would screw with the abs anyway. i think you would have more driveabilty and piece of mind with the 9" and locker

im in the same situation. 3 channel rear, and they dont make 3 channel rears for the 9inch. i think im gonna go that route myself anyway, im not concerned about losing the abs, its just the fact that the ABS light in the dash is ALWAYs goin to be on. that can get real annoying.

Don not buy a spool with how many miles you drive your car to school. They heat up when you take turns and twist your axels after time.

The spool (Even in a 12-bolt) is not offered in 3-channel ABS. So if you went spool you'd lose it anyway.

If you are ditching ABS, you could also use the non-hydraulic ABS delete block and save some weight from the car.

I was reading some threads here about it....is it possible to just pull the fuse to delete the ABS, and the block is just if you are going to save weight?
