Cell phones
Went with Cingular / AT&T and they suck.
Get the "network busy" message from time to time....
Try to call someone and get the old "call failed" message......
Poor reception, was unable to get through to check voice mail.....
Actually get through to someone and the call just goes dead, happened twice last night (no I wasn't in a moving car) I was cooking on the grille and the other time just at the kitche table.
What cell service are you Mass / NH / ME guys running?
Do you have any of the above problems? If so how often?
My wife and I have had the phones for a week and we're ready to fire up the "30 day return" policy.
Marc
P.S. And to top it off I get calls for some geek named Greg as the first three digits of my cell are the area code for Mass
Sprint is awesome.
All cell phone providers have just about the same quality of service in the city. Once you start to head out to the sticks, you see who's better than who.
Buy Verizon or Sprint.
been pretty happy with nextel although verizon would be a lil better if you wouldnt use the two -way

I do most of the HVAC for the nextel and verizon cell sigts in MA NH and RI, and they are going up left and right.
Nextell spends alot more however, they use backup units and have all digital thermostats with main alarms, so if one goes down, the other fires up and sends a board the alarm and we get a call to fix it, verizon uses one cheep unit and its way under sized (engeniers disign the system, not me) so it runs so long in all weather, they smoke parts all the time, and those cell sights shut down over 90*, and once the ac shuts down from the constant 71-73* temp it only takes about 1-2 hours depending on out door temp to reach its dead point.
so long story short, i think nextel is the way to go, i think you will find more consistant service, and alot of people with them to save you a ton of $$$$ on phone calls, just get unlimited direct connect.
JOE, we just did 2 nextel sites in Boston, one in a church near cambrige, and on in the attic of a old building right on newbury street. so service would probable work well for you now.
That chick is pretty hot, must have lulled one of you guys in

RIR got reception in Conway, I live in Somersworth off RT 16 and need to make sure I get reception there as well as other "hot spots" aka New England Dyno and Tuning in Worcester (or along 495 in case I **** the bed), down to SRA Transmission in Portsmouth RI (again looking for coverage to/from there), other possible locations for calls to Tripple A are New England Dragway but I've used Vinny's cell phone so I know Verizon works well in Epping.

P.S. Fired up the 94 last night, sounded rather horny.
Need to get a sticker and turn the insurance back on SOON
My football / drinking buddy / co-mechanic / fellow LS-1 driver Mark has Nextel and his reception is great.
Two things I don't like about Nextel are
A) you have to use the direct connect to avoid having it count towards your minutes when you call another Nextel customer (correct me if I'm wrong?)
B) the sponsor NASCAR and it seems like that sport is being commercialized and rammed down your throat which lead me to my current moddo....."real men don't turn left"

There is a Verizon rep coming to my company tomorrow so I'm going to talk to them and see what the scoop is.......In checking Verizon's website they have a 15 day return policy before you are committed to the 2 year commitment.
im very very happy with it. and i had it long befor they sponsored nascar
