Default Went to CT Emissions today.

Passes. The Guy said as long as you don't have an SES light you will pass. They did pop the Hood, only to verify the engin size.

You haven't put the cam in yet right? You might want to take your car through emmissions before you put in your new cam...it's just a little safer that way incase they don't like the lope or smell of the new cam (if it lopes or smells like raw fuel at idle). Probably don't need to worry anyway but might as well be safer if you still have stock cam in there. Then put your big cam in after you pass.

No problems going thru... good to hear. I just had the cam installed in my car, and was wondering how that was gonna go. I got all the AIR stuff off the car, it lopes around and does smell at idle even though the cats are there...... but no engine light thanks to the good eastside tune. I'll probably toss the air stuff on for " looks" when I bring it in, just loop the things together in the back of the motor, so it looks like it's there, the blockoff plates do lend themselves to questions.

I would like to know where you went, as they obviously didn't care about the headers. Not only that, but I am also curious, is there any other condition other than a check engine light being on that would cause you to fail ( obviously having no cats would ) the test... can they see things that are turned off in the computer, etc. etc, stuff like that, or are they just looking to see if the light is on?

They can't see things that are turned off like EGR Delet or Rear O2 delete. They did not look under the car to see if I had Cat's. I went to the Shell Gas station in Plainfield.

Yeah we just got the OBD-II emisions testing here too. It basicly just looks for SES codes, my dad already tried O2 sims on a car and it passed fine. Funny thing is alot of the mechanics don't seem to realize this yet and arn't doing proper visuals (not that alot do anyway). A guy at my buddies shop said we don't even have to put my car on the lift because it would never pass unless I put the emissions equipment back. I'm going to stuff a new cam in the car and drive over there with open headers for the test, just to prove a point.

damn right! kinda but I was listening to the radio last week and they were saying how Ct has the highest overall taxes in the country (even higher than NY). I'm suprised they don't tax us for breathing oxygen. Another reason not to live in this state..

I have to go in May, Any emmissions stations around the Hartford/Wallingford area that just plugs in OBD II ,checks for cats and doesn't ask questions. I'm NOT looking for someone to cheat or bend the rules. Just a place that doesn't ask stupid questions. Geee it doesn't idle right? PM mail if someone can help me.
