and i dont think they'd ever put out a car with more hp than the vette either
I don't know about "rated horsepower" but didn't the 87 GN/GNX spank the pee out of the vettes of the same era?

what if? wow if GM made something like that they would sell them all for 5 years in a row before dealerships even had them on the lot. pity that we all know they wont. it is like was said before GM is in the market to sell the compact cars that will sell 100's of thousands a year and make the most profit possible. and it seems that all GM cars will be Korean made soon, first the rebaged Diawoo (Aveo) a korean car with no warrenty now what. but dont get me wrong i would love to have one of those cars sitting in my driveway

That was a pretty stupid comment, considering the fact that the Infiniti G35 IS a Skyline (look up what the exact same car is called in Japan if you don't believe me.)

No, the Infiniti is not a GT-R, the GT-R died along with the R34 model. There's no current GT-R in Japan right now, either. Doesn't change the fact that the Skyline coupe over there is the same car sold here as a G35.

Keep in mind that I really don't like Skylines at all (wording it nicely.) Doesn't mean I'm ignorant about them, though.

From what I remember the Skylines are heavy as hell. Over the more recent years Nissan has been dropping weight from the car instead of just adding power. For a power to weight ratio, I still think the Supra has the upper edge, even being as old as it is. I like the 2nd to newest Nissian 300ZX's but they were junk unless you spent big money on em.

The Skyline is a big car to begin with, then add all the options it comes with plus the AWD system. Without the big hp models, it's performance doesnt impress me.

A 1999 GTR Skyline’s specs:

277 hp and 293 trq.
0-60 in 5.2.
¼ mile in 13.7
3373 pounds without a driver.

The car get’s so much press here in America because it isn’t around. Take the Supra. If the Supra wasn’t offered in America, in bone stock form people would be comparing it to Vette’s and Vipers. You people should see how highly everyone else thinks about these Skylines. It’s like the second coming or something when they are nothing but a Supra with all wheel drive. People were telling everyone how the Acura NSX was gonna wipe the floor when it came out and look at it, it’s nothing but a V6 turd, it cant keep up with anything.

I think the older 300ZX, Skline, Supra and NSX’s are really cool cars but highly over rated.

Exactly that is the reason i hate them so much so much hype over so little because you cannot buy one in the US and if it come's here all the rice boy's will start getting hard on's and start working extra hour's at chuckie cheese

The GTR-V spec is almost 90,000.00 American dollars not considering all of the fee's, tax's, import charges and insurance. I don't even think a double shift at Chuckie's would help. If I was in the market to spend that kind of money it would be something worth it, something exotic. Skylines around the rest of the world are as common as BMW M3's here in the states.

id say if GM brought this thing back just like posted theyd make HUGE business. itd be a good step for once and say good buy to all those damn STIs and Evos. although it looks very similar to the GTO...all the other 80's style muscle cars were alike so who cares about that, i personally think this thing looks better than the GTO. not sure if anyone has already but we should push to get this thing into production. id rather see this than the camaro coming back as of now. just my .02
