Default Cartek tuning strikes again!

For those locally that are interested.

My Cartek Heads and Cam Camaro just dynoed 443 Hp and 398 ftlbs.

That is with a 3X cam and 241 heads. (Who needs 243 castings)

No ported throttle body, no ported intake, no shortbelt, no tricks.

This was an NA pull for a car tuned for N20. (TR6 plugs, 1-7/8 headers etc.)

Here is the best part... the car has an automatic. a stock 4L60-E
and a Moser rear which takes more power to turn.
It even has the stock steel drive shaft.

I switched my Kooks headers Catted Y-pipe out for an off road pipe.

Julio tuned it and walla 443 HP.

If I go LSX and 90mm TB I am sure to break 450 if not 460 RWHP NA. Add in an aluminum driveshaft and a short belt and watch out.

Can you tell I'm happy?

Dave I hate to admit it but you were right again.

Thanks to Julio, Dave, Roy and Rich. The car was in, parts changed, Dynoed and out all in the same day. Pollen didn't even get a chance to fall on it.

Congrats on those numbers. Those are by far the highest a4 numbers I have seen especially on a nitrous tune and with a 12 bolt no lsxand a steel DRive shaft. Id love to see it backed up on a different dyno though. Im not calling BS because I have seen very impressive numbers from them but these are very high. I remember bspz28 thought he had 475-490 hp and it turned out when he went to a different dyno it was only 454 which is still an awsome number but not what he thought .
Anyway Good luck with all that hp . Your car should run 10`s all day

Dont forget to post the dynosheet

Yes, the heads were ported by Cartek.

Yes, the trans should explode any time now. I have a B&M deep pan and a large trans cooler so if I don't break any hard parts I should be OK for a little while? Julio played with the programing for the trans too and it has held up to a few N2O passes so far with over
540 lbft of TQ 430 RWHP before the H&C. w/N20 now I am not so sure .

The car will be making around 550/550 with a hundred shot I am guessing?
I have always picked up more than 100 with 100 jets. NX.

Anyone care to guess my future ET's? at 3500lbs

Thumbs up

Nice numbers dude, add an underdrive pulley, some free ram air along with that FAST 90 set up and your dyno numbers (and umm, track numbers ) will ROCK.

Thanks, Yeah I know Pete. I didn't know about that?

I have only dynoed at Cartek so I couldn't tell you? I know my set up, being one of the latest and greatest has out performed most, but not all of Cartek's other auto trans cars. So, I would suspect this is just evolution. My car has even out dynoed some of their older six speed cars dyno #'s.

A couple of other Cartek customers already want to upgrade to my set up and/or exceed it. Julio insists that he can still make even more power if I had gone with the 243's, but I just didn't have the cash for that.

I don't have the capability to post the dyno graph. If Julio or Dave see this thread possibly they can? I have no problem with that.

I would be happy to dyno the car somewhere else as long as it is reasonably close and for free. Then you can add the two and divide for the average.

I am looking forward to upgrading the Intake tract.
I have the LS6 intake (2002 Camaro) but it is unported just like the TB.
When I have the money I am going to get the LSX intake and 90mm TB.
I didn't want to waste the money on porting the stock LS6 & TB when I was going to upgrade anyway?

I didn't get a new driveshaft yet because of ... well money I guess?
But when this trans does go I don't plan on rebuilding it.
I am going to get something stronger.. th350, Glide, 4L80E ? I don't know yet.
I will get the drive shaft at the same time as the trans.

Yes
Does that free ram air really work? Even so, It would only show on the track it wouldn't make a difference on the dyno. I can't see it making much of a difference anyway. Any real back to back tests?

Thanks, The converter is tight for NA, but the car should fly on just a 100 shot.
