Sold my SS today...
Well, a guy approached me at the end of a long rain-delayed raceday at LVD on Saturday, and said he'd like to buy my car if it was for sale. Said I'd think about it for a day or 2 and let him know. We talked via email on Sunday, I threw him a # for the car and EVERYTHING I have w/it, this morning the deal was done, and late this afternoon I drove it into his enclosed 24' race trailer, along w/all my race goodies for the car, and well, off it went. I'm a little shellshocked still--but it's gone. I'm happy in one respect, because it's going to be a full-time race car now, riding to the track in that nice enclosed hauler, and it's gonna be getting a nice new Strange 12 bolt w/3.73's, and some shiny new Hal Shocks, and some Kooks 1&3/4" longtubes. It'll still be racing out of the Central Mass Dragrace Club, as I did, so everyone will still see it around now and then--but no more street use. I'm just happy it's going to remain just a race car, and not a daily driver. Sure going to miss her, though.... 6,100 miles. That's all she wrote... WJ

Warren - I know you talked about selling and the market sucks for sellers. That guy must have realized how nice a car he was getting with yours - I know it wasn't cheap.
Hope he does her justice.
Want my Formula - or my 71 Lemans?
you're loaded
good luck and hope to see you!

Not sure which direction I'm heading in, as yet....I've always wanted another '64 Chevelle Malibu SS coupe...either w/a big block, or a Gen III LS-type motor...or maybe another like the '02 that just went, only w/a solid roof, w/enough power to run consistent 9.90's without the juice or a spinner... I know right now I need some trout fishing and a good summer. Plan on going to a couple of NHRA national events, hitting the Cape some, and just hanging out w/family and friends, now that I don't have to be so devoted to the car to keep it looking good, and going good...Anyway, I'll be posting up a few things that are LS1 related that I've got left around here that someone might be interested in buying...Best wishes to everyone. I didnt really think you were going to do it. At least you got a good price, in that game youve got to consider yourself lucky. I know you were really looking at those Chevelles at LVD, they were nice. So was I. When you get suffciently bored with hangin out w/ friends and family my bet is you'll be back in something soon enough. How's a unmodded 02 ZO6 sound?

I think!
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm! "64" Chevelle U say?
Brings back some drag racing memories from back in the day pops!
"**** Brothers Racing" and their dueling 9 second Chevelles, both with custom "DD" parachutes hanging out the back for those over 150 mph passes!
Ahhhhhhh! Those were the days!
Good luck on with whatever U choose to do next old man!

Thanks for all the kind words Everyone...Sure is strange, going out to the garage and realizing she's not there. Hard to explain, but when that enclosed 24' hauler pulled out of my driveway the other day, it was almost as bad as having your best friend move to the West coast.... WJ

Sorry to hear that Warren...sure was a beautiful immaculate SOM. I know you kind of wanted to sell it though...and I'm sure you got a good price. Hopefully we'll still see you around though.
