She's Alive!!!
When I retorqued in the car it was hard to tell, but it seemed like it was more. I could be wrong, like I said, it was hard to tell in the car, especially the ones way under the cowl.
Things to take into consideration:
1) Comp Cams and most aftermarket cams have .030 smaller base circle.
2) Are the heads milled at all? .030? .050?
I recall that a setup with a Comp Cam with .030 smaller base circle and heads that have been milled .030 are pretty much a wash- torque to 22ft pounds and then you are set.. using 7.4" pushrods.
After zero lash (pushrod doesn't move) it should take no more than 3/4 of a turn (90 degrees) to properly set to 22ft lbs of torque. If it takes much less, shorter pushrods are necessary.

Also.. the good oil does make a difference with the valvetrain noise.
Just trying to help... I'm sure Slowhawk can get it where it should be.

NOTE- these are 5.3 heads.. same concept applys, though.
