Good stuff, bring it down to Don's sometime.

I need to get my Camaro battery juiced up again then I'm gonna wash the car, it'll be the first time in about 2 months. Marcel has my good detailing stuff so all I can do is wash n wax the car, oh well.

Your gonna wash and wax my car... Awesome man!

Took it for the first test flight today. Maybe I am paranoid, but I'm hearing every little noise. Maybe Don or someone can tell me what acceptable valvetrain noise sounds like??? or if I was supposed to shim the windage tray? God am I paranoid... and I didn't even smoke the funny stuff. If all goes well, she'll be at Don's this Saturday I'm gonna hook her up to a scan tool tomorrow at school and make sure she's good electrically.

The Valvetrain will make some noise with that big Cam in there. The windage tray doesn't need to be shimmed(well Mikes wasn't).

Did you say big cam?

Like a tapping at idle? Seems to go away with RPM though... I dunno, as soon as she cools completely, I'm going for another quick spin.

Not at idle, never really changes with temp - I'll pay closer attention on my second ride - it's tough to keep the cutout closed though

I am not sure the rocker adjustment methods on an LS1...but if it were me, I would readjust the rocker arms while the car was running. If it doesnt go away and it is still loud, then perhaps you need to worry.

It sure would... Here hold these coil packs...

Well I took her out for a beating today to make sure all was well and the valvetrain got louder again. I don't think she'll make the trip home Those pushrods must be too short or something. I'm just going to order the tool and measure for the right size. Unless you guys can fix it on site when I get her home...

Valvetrain noise with XE-R's is normal.

Get some GOOD oil (Amsoil 2000 0W-30) or Redline 10W-30 and it should diminish the sound.. this was done right on TTP's dyno once- noise disappeared after the Amsoil went in.
