Where is the limitation with the stock block? Then all this hype about the LQ9 and LS2 is just for cubes. I think I'll stick to a stroker LS1 whenever I switch to snails.

the accomplishment is great but its like moran going 7.40 in his tube chassis. IF we tub these cars they will be in the 8's no problem.

I just used a "horsepower calculator" to figure out that I have to make 1782rwhp to hit that same 1/4mi time. I'll bet I could do it with a CAI and throttle body spacer. What do you guys think?

How about the yellow corvette built by Speedway 5 years ago? 8.4@ 180 with a stock independent rear and a Turbo 400 Tranny and the car was a daily driver.

406 cubic inch with a single turbo and air to air intercooler. The car had more in it but couldn't turn up the boost because the suspension was already at it's limit.

I never saw anything on this car any links, photos, video etc...
I am on misson to hold that record. As far as I know the quickest IRS corvette record is held by LPE 8.95.

well props to you on running in the 8's well now you can here all the fun stuff about that it does count cause its tubbed or what not. You did it that all that matters and now all we need is some more cars like this so we can get a real outlaw street class at some ls1 races. congrats on the run and hope to see it run in the quik 8 or 16 down at englishtown.

The video of the IRS C4 that ran 8.4 @ 180 will be posted on Speedwaycorvettes.com in a couple of weeks. But it is mentioned on another website. Go to rollingthunderz.com and scroll down to serious corvette racers in serious street. You should know the car accomplished this in 2002 and in 2001 Bills red IRS vette ran 8.90 @ 161 first pass down the track before it was tuned and this was done in Bristol Tenessee. He was also in GM High Tech Magazine back in 1999 with the red car with the stock suspension when it went 9.2 @ 149 in Englishtown, NJ. Both these cars were driven on the road daily.

Dom Stabilito went 9.80's@141 in a IRS C4 back in 1996
That was a 434CI R-Trim with GenVI DFI/700R4...

Car still has A/C,radio power everything etc...

rollingthunderz.com is under construction 8.90 I can believe and should have no problem beating but 8.4 I need to see that is just sick especially considering the C4 suspension isn't legal for even 9s. I may have to settle for the quickest NOS powered IRS car Or the Quickest IRS C5. But my goal is to be the quickest IRS period. Look forward to seeing details and the video.

BTW, if the VIN on the car says it's a Z06, it's a Z06 and always will be as long as it has that VIN.
