Default I went AutoX'ing

It was so much fun. We all had a blast. This was my 1st experience competing in one. This was an SCCA sanctioned event at Devens in MA.

I went up there with a few friends consisting of the following cars. Mazda RX-8, Lt1 camaro, and 2 Stangs. We all did well and had fun. My car isn't really set up for this especially having a stalled auto and using only 2nd gear, but I was able to hold my own, for a 1st timer. Lots of different cars there.

I got to do 3 runs. The course was very technical and tight. Believe me on every turn I took the tires were talking to me. Here is a little clip of my last run. (I have clips and pics of other cars as well)

nice. how'd that lotus do? camera work at the end was making me dizzy
automatics don't do that badly in AX because there isn't a lot of shifting to do. i used to race 87 GTA with 350 TPI and it was a blast. that lot you raced in has weird configuration; i used to racing in big open parking lots. looks like fun though.

Sorry about the crappy camera work. It was my Dad's 1st time figuring it out. The Lotus's ran great. There was a green and orange Elise there. The guy in the orange car was also a 1st timer. I think he ran a 55ish sec run. The fastest street cars there were running high 40's, fully prept, suspension, slicks, stripped.

A fried of mine does that stuff with a GUTTED, and I mean GUTTEd VW rabbit. it's pretty cool to watch, he is constantly getting the inside rear tire off the ground going into corners.. he beats that car like a bad habit, but has a blast doing it. i thinkhe spent about 6 grand ont eh car total with all the suspension parts and all, and I think that even with him in it, the car weigh's like 1900 lbs or something. Neat stuff...but not good for a car you care about. The cones leave ugly scuff marks... believe me.

I took my time for the most part and hit no cones, and those cones were tight. There we a lot of little stripped cars up there with done up suspension. I would say half the cars there would usually lift a wheel on every turn. It is very impressive to see some of these guys run.

It figures the event whene my car is in 100 peices a group of f-bodies show up. I am almost allways there as the lone f-body( 4th gen).
The little cars aren't that hard to catch on an open devens course, up on the tight NHIS course they walk away with the race.

That was at Mazda with **** box 4C. Now I'll be driving my car. You'll have to watch out, remember I got the springs and adj. shocks to make up some ground.
