Default Shitty day at LVD today!

Well I went to LVD thismorning for the tset & tune.... Left my house at 7, got over there around 9:30. I was supposed to be meeting someone there, but he didn't show.... I didn't get his pm until I got back because I couldn't log onto ls1tech in the morning, it kept saying server busy....

First run... I was the second car to run. Launched ok a 2.0 60'. When I shifted for 2nd gear, it felt like I was on ice, I just had no traction, so I feathered the gas a little trying to get it to hook back up.... and nothing. Finally at the the top of second I got it to grab again. Then I shifted for third, and again, same thing.... no traction at all.. I gave up and coasted through the traps 13.7 at 97.xx

There was alot of people there and it was a good hour and half before I got to run again....

second run.... A little pissed I did a pretty good burnout, lined up and again launched alright (2.0 60') This time I had a little traction but I spun pretty hard into second so I short shifted third and only spun a little. But when I went for fourth I had no traction again, it actually got pretty loose going into fourth, I normally just chirp into 4th but this time it got real sloppy. I crossed the traps at 12.9 at 111.xx. I was so pissed I just took my time slip and headed out the back entrance, I wasn't going to wait another hour and a half to do another 1/4 mile burn out....

Last time to the track was at ned, air temp was 100-105 and humid and a ran a 12.6 at 114 on a 2.0, so I was looking forward to today because I was actually going to get to run in some good air....... But instead I just wasted half my day... Didn't get home until 1:30ish and only had 2 shitty timeslips to show for it!

Ok, I'm done ranting

LVD must coat their lanes with teflon and butter, I have yet to run LVD yet with any of my cars but anyone I talk to says they have horrible traction unless they are on slicks... A friend of mine had a stock 4.8 Silverado spinning into 2nd gear off the launch because he couldn't catch traction... and that thing ran 16.70s at best.

hey im sorry to hear that. i ended up getting there around 1pm, but without my car. ill get ur phone number next time so i dont waste ur time. i cleared the code tonight and i am gonna drive it around a little tomorrow to see if it comes back. thats kinda interesting when i got there around 1 pmish it seemed that every car was getting good traction, but it must have been because they were only running slicks or DR's. i was sooo pissed seeing this because i wanted to run my car so bad... but i didnt want to take a gamble and force having to buy a built tranny before i had to. i saw u drive by on the mass pike going west in Lee. well it sucks to hear that u didnt get a good time, but at least u have a 12 second timeslip

I was there today, it wasn't too bad, but there weren't that many cars, yet damn it took them along time to run. And they sure kept shafting the guys in the street lanes - like 2 hours between runs. I was there in my T/A, running Mickey DR's. I think I was 2 cars behind you in the same lane on our first runs.

I did ok, 12.6@113 1.95 first, 12.4@114 1.88 second, after which I got lucky and the official let me jump into the slicks lane, so I got a 3rd pass in shortly after, and had a 12.2@114 off a 1.75 (my best 60' ever). I was off a good 2mph in trap speed. It was my first passes on the Textralia clutch that replaced my old Spec 3, and it didn't give me any problems, grabbed well.

Could've gotten in a 4th pass, but just before my 3rd my brother in law blew one of his axles on his SRT-4 (he was the silver one on slicks, best of 13.2@103 with a 1.96). So I stopped running to help him fix his car in the pits - they were actually beefy (supposedly) aftermarket axles and he happened to bring his stockers with him. Sheared off all the splines on the pass side axle going to the output shaft.

So I thought the track actually stuck decent today, its been much much worse the other times I've gone. Just wish they hadn't taken so damn long. Oh well, rental is in 1 month, thats always the best time to go.

ya u definately had some good runs. i was gonna go find ya in the pits, but i was fixed to the damn track wondering what interesting thing would come up next. that 55 chevy had some sick *** wheelstands. and what about the announcer, that guy was a fricken riot. no bad hondas, u cant stage on ur rear wheels, thats cheating... no u cant pass the lights when u do ur burnout.. the track personel are ur friends, be nice to them... oh bad honda u go in time out now and think about what u did wrong

Yeah, that was me, I noticed the NHRA badges. I don't know what my trction problem was, like I said, I was leaving the line ok for having pretty worn F1's, but it was my 1-2 & 2-3 shifts that I couldn't hook, and on the last run my 3-4 shift even got loose I was just pissed because it was the first time I had made it too the track when it wasn't really hot & humid, so I was looking forward to some good runs, and I wasn't hanging aroung another 2 hours for one more pass.

Thats ok, I really had nothing better to do, and even though I wasn't happy with my runs, more track time is always good. I'll PM you my phone # I have your cell # but it's im a pm from you so I couldn't even get to it in the morning before I left. I may have a 12 sec slip, but it's not one I'm really happy with, but I was more looking forward to seeing you get yours

Lol that announcer at the end of the day was pretty funny. I was in the pits at that point fixing the SRT, but I heard him making fun of the Hondas - did I hear 2 broke at the same time on the line? And I thought it was pretty funny when he said the Saab that ran a 14.1 or whatever was the fastest Saab he'd ever seen and ran a world record. And I heard him soil himself with that 55 that pulled a wheelstand. Wish I had a chance to have watched.

ya i know, ur always gunnin' for a better one trust me i know. u know what u need to do, get a pair of nittos and got to the track rental oct 7th. im gonna go. worn f1 supercar run flats equal no traction and a stiff *** sidewall. enough trying to prove something get the DR's and get that slip u want

ya that 55 was badass, "whatever you do do not let that guy get wheelie bar". at least ur got ur inlaw's car fixed and oddly enough he had the axles... hell better to be safe than sorry is what i always say. ya both hondas broke at the same time, i think they just hazed the hell out of their clutchs, because they were back an hour later

Lol, my buddy Matt broke the outputs on his transmission on his red turbo Civic hatch at LVD yesterday. The car was trapping high (117+) but he was having trouble getting the thing to run good times on DR's. While we're on the Saab subject, a friend of mine brought his 99 Saab 9-3 Automatic to LVD last year and ran 13.9 with some backyard mods

That's why I won't go there anymore. At Island Dragway, in NJ, I can get 6+ runs in an hour (if I wanted to). It's another 30+ min drive farther than LVD, but worth the trip, IMO.

I know it's a ways off, but I'll be there Firday, Oct. 7 to run with my new N2O setup (weather permitting). If you can make it, I sure could use some pointers on reducing my 60'.

Yeah, I had heard bad things before I went. I was there like 3 years ago with my old t/a but it wasn't bad that night. I like the reserved T&T at NED if you get in early enough. It's $100 and they run from 1-5. They only sell 30 spots so you get plenty of runs and they use 1 lane for slicks and one lane for street tires. Last time I went my dad and I were the only cars on street tires so we had the left lane all to ourself I got in like 14 passes and that was with alot of cool-down time inbetween and the track was hooking like I have never felt before!!!!

For what its worth, i ran my old mans 03 Z06, B+M, blackwing cold air, and my old rims 17x10.5 Bogart RR-10's with 315 drag radials. i went 12.2 @ 115, then 12.2 @ 116, then a 12.3 @ 116 on a street night with 2.1 60' and spinning at every shift.
your mods and a set of tires, and the car should go 11's! drive it like you stole it, and go for it!

fwiw, i want to do a 160 stat, and have ESP tune it and go on a saturday, i think my old mans will go 11's.
