I placed second in the carcraft RSE event
We then went onto a 60-0 braking test. I thought I had this won with all 3 of my runs coming in at 104 ft with only a few inches of variance. Then the AMX which has a C5 corvette brakes and C4 vette ABS system fabricated to work in the old car pulled off one 101ft stop. His others were in the 110 area, but they used your 1 best stop for the results. The other cars did not have ABS and were in the 130 ft area, with the 90 mustang having brake balance issues finally pulled in a 149 ft best stop.
The second day was to include a Autox that I was favored heavily to win, and a 100 mile ride and drive test. We woke to a rainy day and the owners of norwalk raceway would not let us run the autox. So we did the ride test 1st hoping for an end to the rain. The drive went on for 120 miles and 4 hours, until they gave up on clearing weather and dropped the autox.
At the awards it was no surprize when the AMX got the win, but I was shocked when I was announced with a 2nd place finish. The event will be the cover story for the Feb issue of carcraft with a ton of pics.
Glad you had a good time, pisser you lost out on what would have been your strongest event - the auto cross.
Sounds like your clutch held up?
Pisser about the NOS issues.
Make sure you post the link when the mag comes out as I no longer subscrive to Car Craft.
