OK so you CAN swap a solid axle into those Vettes? Sorry just have me a little confused over here. I know IRS's can't take much abuse especially once wheel hop is involved, that's why I made the comment in the first place. 99+ Cobras in my area usually get the solid rear swapped a.s.a.p. if they are going to be doing any kind of serious drag racing.

Just be happy you don't have to race out here in Albuquerque. The damn wind blows sand all over the track. Even if the track owner had heard of VHT, which he hasn't, the sand would probably just stick to the track better. Add in the 8000+ sometimes 9000 foot DA's and you got the crappiest track in the world.

Honestly, it's that bad. It's like trying to sprint across a hockey rink after being kicked in the nuts.

I can't wait to get home and race at Ned. At least NED has bathrooms.

Not skate, sprint, in shoes.

Skating after being kicked in the nuts would be like Bandamere in Denver. At least you have traction there.

oppps, but personally doing anything after be kicked in the nuts would not happen, except lieing there on the ground saying why me, and wanting to die.

Won't the Lingenfelter half shafts take low 9's w/a Nitto or M/T ET Radial tire w/a small amount of wheelspin off the line?? People have said this...no? WJ

Owner/Operator/Manager of NED is a first class person. Joe Lombardo. He was a NHRA drag racer for years...Believe he was a National Event champion and record holder many times over in the Stock and Super Stock categories. He KNOWS THE SPORT, is fair, and knows what it takes to run a first-class operation. WJ

No picnic to service, either...I'll bet. W/more and more late model Vette's coming on the 1/4 mile scene, you can bet Strange or someone else will start making some bullet-proof parts for the back half's of these cars, no? WJ

jeff hasnt broken his half shaft yet, his is still sotkc, he's got et streets on the back and runs consistent 9.70- 9.80's. my father says what usually breaks is the output shaft in the rear end, which he has replaced in jeff's vette, with a stronger one.

the half shafts will go 9's with spinning, but not for long. lol

WJ, i totaly disagree about Joe, he is a tight wad with a bad attitude and NED is the poorest run track i have ever been to.
the owner/s should fire just about everymisrable ***** and bitch that works there, and get some people that will enjoy the job. while they are at it, they should spend a few bucks and pave the place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i know that this year there attendence was very poor, if they dont do somthing to improve, they will sell out and do what every other strip is doing. build condo units on the land.
they need a better manager, and nice more racer friendly staff.

We already did the hardened output shaft's,hardened gears, rebuilt clutch packs ect.I'm thinking either a shaft broke or the pinion gear broke.Either way C5's just suck in the driveline and you can not build them as strong as an F-body unless you go solid rear which is alot of work.We will probly switch in a T350 this winter that should help soften the hit on the rear.Just wanted to break the 9.4 record on a M6 first

I agree with the people working the track.Tech just plain sucks because they don't have a clue,or should I say most of them don't. Why don't they just fire the kid?
