i hate ned
i agree, tech completetly sucks at New england. and i also agree they should pave it, did u see how muddy it was yesterday, i mean yea we had a week of rain but comeon mud was everywher. and on top of that has anyone noticed it costs you $10 to get lunch there. where do they get there prices. a doble chees is 4.40 a deep fried twinkie is 3.01, belgian waffles are $5.09 i mean come on y cant make up some legit prices like LVD, it cost me 10 for a large coke, cheesburger and small frie. at lvd it would be 6 bucks. New england needs to get there act together if they are ever even hinking about hosting a national event.
Slowhawk, and Noyzee, yea your right the auto helps. as far as the halfshafts breaking, jeff still has the stock ones in with about 40-50 passes ont them, not including street use.

i would pay $50 for a burger if the dam place was good! if the lot was paved and the people where nice its worth extra money.
they should have refunded us 50% saturday. we only used 50% of there track!!

the only good thing about ned is it is 45 minits from my house.
why couldnt i live closer to a good track
so let's all pitch in and build a new track.
Lebanon valley must be at least 4 hours from me so there's no way i'm going there unless i happen to be visitting family in western mass or something. NED on the other hand is 20min away. I'm new to drag racing though so i have no idea if they suck or not.

Rick that runs the staging lanes at the top is mad cool, I owe him a Scandalous shirt next time I head up there. Tech sometimes can be **** or sometimes let you fly right through. I think its a really nice track besides the pit needing more pavement. I'll be hosting a huge event there in 2006....details on that will be released soon

Regarding tech at NED: Go when season first opens. Spend $50 and join IHRA. That day--tech in once--for the whole season. They give you the tech sticker, you put it on your window, and you're done tech for the season. Simple. Why go thru every time you go up? It makes everyone miserable. LVD= same thing. You pay for the sticker that's good for the season when you get teched in. Put the sticker on your window, and again, you're done going thru tech for the season. LVD has about the most Mickey Mouse tech that I've ever seen, IMO. NED soon will be NHRA sanctioned. The IHRA North American Nationals has been a very successful event for years at NED. They have done much additional paving in the show and back pit area over the past couple of years. You can't say they're not putting $ back into the track--they also increased the length of the concrete launch pad. Regarding LVD: Every year it's a mystery just about up to the last minute as to whether or not they're going to open for the season--remember this past spring? Also, the bathrooms are the dirtiest, filthiest, most unsanitary that I've ever seen. In Ma., the board of health, or plumbing code enforcement would shut them down...Water seeps thru the right hand lane every year--they never fix anything there. That's my 2 cents. New England used to have 4 good NHRA sanctioned drag strips, namely, Orange, Ma., Charlestown, R.I., Sanford, Me., and lastly, and best, Connecticut Dragway, in East Haddam (Colchester), Ct. That ended in the early 80's when gas and high perf. cars went by the wayside... You could race at a different New England track every wknd.--spring thru fall. WJ

Oh, all the timing equipment was portable and set up before, and taken down and stored after every race day. (tree, etc.) Early trees had only 3 beams. 1 yellow stage, a green, and a red. A starter stood between the cars--like today. Before that, it was a flagman standing out in front of and between both cars sitting at the line. Someone was down at the finish line recording who won before timers came along. Getting carried away here....

they should have focused on the sand/dirt main lot befor they worry about a spot they use 3 times a year. and a little track prep would be nice, the only good prep i saw at ned this year was the 2nd day at super chevy, and it was because everyone bitched!
lvd has people that enjoy there job, ned has many many bitter misrable ******. and lots of people have no clue.
it also is run like ****, i cant tell you how many times i have gone there paid all the money, and got 2 passes, but while i was in the lains i saw the same cars go by me over and over. they have no clue.
its 45 min from my house, thats it.
PS, Joe is one of the most dry people who seems like he hates his job i have ever meet.
I can honestly say that I've experienced way less waiting and problems at NED over the years that at LVD....W/rising noise constraints and housebuilders sucking up all the land, we may not have anyplace to run, before we know it. I'll take NED over LVD any day. Everyone's got their own story, we all realize that. I'm just thankful I don't have a 4 hr. drive one way to race, like some racers do. WJ
The guy that lets the cars in at the staging lane ....if your pals with him,its cool...If your like any of the other 100's of people waiting to race,it really SUCKS...He is one of the reasons I dont like going to NED anymore...I paid my money to get in..Don't think the staging lanes should be run by the "buddy" system....
NED is the only track that I have ever raced at, but I have seen footage from E-town, acto and LvD. I think that NED is a joke. You can tell that they dont really care about the facility. The facility is made up of 80% dirt, 10% gravel, 5% track and the other 5% no one knows. Now there is a reason why you see 8,9,10 second cars at E-Town on every street night. The only time there are 8 & 9 second cars at NED is a event or Quick Street. Ya there are 3 or 4 guys that run mid 9's on street night (my brother is one of them) but besides that there is nothing. Way to many 15 second civics dragin water down the track and way to many people parking in the pits that should not be. I hate it when you go to make a pass and you come back to where yo are pitting and there is a toyota camry parked right there. Even though you have a truck, tailor, jackstands, ez up tent and other stuff marking out the space they still just park there. idiots.
