Yeah, the 700s are cool IMO. Would NOT be my choice for a sport quad, but if I had big bucks to blow, I'd have one in my line up. With some pipes....come on, can't beat that V-twin sound.

They are fast, but I can beat them from a dig., and through 5 gears. The one I raced had about 2MPH on me top end though. I went down from a 14t front sprocket, to a 13t.

I want to build my 450R, do the 525 kit and suspension and call it a day. The next trail quad for me is a 700 Raptor EFI. I love those raptors. I had an '01 and it was fun, but had minor problems. The upped displacement and EFI must be a blast.

Here's one more for ya, a half assed special K.

Still think my gixxer 1100 powered 500 quadzilla was fun. Certainly faster LOL, and not too bad thru the woods, jsut had to leave it in first gear all the time, with a 10800 rev limiter, and the gearing I was running, 40 mph in first gear was doable. Open fields disappeared in a heartbeat, all you had to do was visualize being on the other side, gas it, a couple shifts, and I was already slamming on the breaks in a 4 wheel lockup to stop from hitting something LOL.

Raced my buddies 450 yesterday. it was pretty close. he has pipe, muffler, rev box, and no skid plates/nerf bars ect, and light weight tires.
i had my big *** mud sharks, all my plates, it it was a real close dragrace.
we had a good time other then vinny loosing both rear tires and pulling his 800 pound machine out threw the trails. lol

LOL aww man. Nothings worse than breaking down on the trail. In my case, it's usually the furthest possible location from the truck. And it usually involves something shittier, such as water, lots of it.

How the **** do you lose both rear tires? Flats?

Yeah one went flat, then it was thrown off the bead, then the other went flat and then it came off the bead, then the first one got back on the bead???? then off again.

I now realize how totally worthless tires are with no air.

It was pooring rain, and the ****** rolled it in some mud/clay ****. It was the hardest damn thing to get back over.

Get that green slime ****.. when I raced.. it was praticially mandatory to have in every tire. I used to also carry a plug kit, and these co2 cartridge tire inflater things.. really small, and would do a whole tire in about 1 minute. Neat stuff.

Beadlock wheels too.. a little expensive, but also well worth it.

I've got a '04 yfz450. I only took it to the 1/8th mile once just for grins and ran a 9.003 @ 70 with a 1.96 60ft not to bad for slip on hmf pipe jets and alum air box.

I still prefer to stay in the woods with it.
