Not that it matters but just curious, was it like a 129.1 or closer to a 129.9?

To lose 200 pounds will not be easy. and I still need to address my suspension.. The car is running strong and is running faster on each pass .

I'm sure the good rotating assy would be more reliable... but without a boost in compression, could lose power. The stock parts are some of the lightest stuff you can run.
You say it would be faster if the converter would lock, do you think the stall is too high, or is it possibly runnning out of gear? What tire/rear gear are you running ?
Either way, congrats. Get one of those wolfe solid bar swaybars on the car, and see if that fixes it.

Right now I have a 28x10x16 Hoosier Slick on the car on TA wheels
I am crossing the traps right now at about 6,800 rpm's
The car was going faster on each pass . 10.42 10.40 10.35 10.33. all the 60' were from 1.42 down to 1.39.
Joel I am running the Kirkly Light weight seat I am sure it's close to your weight. I also had the stock battery in the front where I usually run a light weight one.

I belive with a TH350 you can get a lockup switch on the converter to lock it up at the top end which would give you a few more MPH. right now my stall is at 5500 which I think will be fine once I can get back onto a 28x10x15 tire.
Well lets look at it this way. the DA that day was - 400. Lets say I do a some light weight mods.
Light weight pin on hood may save me 40 pounds
light weight hatch with lexan glass I think is good for 70 pounds
light weight battery good for 25 pounds
going back to my 15 inch welds out back is good for 20 pounds ?
So thats good for 155 pounds which will get my time from 10.33 down to maybe a 10.21.
Then a good tire and rear drag bar may get me down to a 10.15
then throw in some - 1500 DA which we get up here in NJ on a good track like Atco or Cecil ( Atco/ Cecil mod) may get me 10.05. Which is still not going to get me into the 9's
All in all I am very happy with the way the car is running and I am looking foward to racing in the spring with all you guys and girls

Pete... the tires, and the rim weight alone would probably knock a good solid tenth off, maybe more. 10.23 The drag bar, and some more suspension tweaking may get you 1/2 a tenth in the 60 foot, that's at least .15 off a full pass. 10.08
Now, the weight removal. The rule of thumb is 100 lbs, = 10 hp. On a 3500 lb car, removing 100 lbs, or adding 10 hp is good for a tenth. Look at it in percentages. 100 lbs off a 3500 lb car is 3.5 %, removing 150 lbs off a car that's already at 3100... is a much larger %. That being said, I think that you'll see more of a gain then the .15 you are suspecting. Never mind that the hood, and battery are in the front of the car, where the weight removal makes more of a differnence.
There's 9's in the car man!
Plus, the atco/cecil mod in february, is another .2 as well!
As for the lockup converter, it sounds like you're trapping about where it should be. The other tire may expand more then the ones you are on right now, so taht could help the situation out a little.. may negate the need for any change there.
