Believe it or not, I've never seen it top out, I raced it to 700' and never any farther. Where I live there's a lot of nice trails and some long fields for drag racing, but nothing long enough to see the top end, I was going to bring it to my uncles lake house to see what it would do on the lake, but I lost intrest before I ever made it up there....

if i was to buy a sled, id get that arctic cat, hands down. They last and are very powerful and agile, unlike my rx-1 ton, im guessing the f-7 will top out in the 115-120 range, my dads old thundercat would hit 127 in great conditions. I've got my rx-1 to 120 but its friggin heavy, im guessing 700 lbs!

there really aren;t too many good places to ride in ma, just in spencerand its not groomed and at mt. greylock, plus registration in mass is def not worth it, i didnt even bother, just spend the 4 hours to go to northern NH or the 5 hours to maine.

Out of the ones you named I would get the Mach Z. I dont know why im not a Polaris fan. Dont like the looks of the Fusion.

I'm looking into sleds right now actually, if i had to buy one tomorrow it would be the ski doo MXZ Adrenaline or the Arctic Cat Sabercat. I love the orange F7, my fav look but its very aggresive and i dont think i want to have to ride a sled aggresive 24/7, plus they dont have reverse this year.

I dont liek the look of the Polaris and my only problem with yamaha is the 4 stroke makes it heavy, and makes it expensive.

IMO The ski doo rev platform will give you a nicer ride but ride isnt everything. I dont think their motors are as good. I dont care what anyone says i have been doing research for over a month. There are many post about problems with the Ski doo motors and SDI system having problems. Its about 50/50 some people love it and the other half hate it. Half have problems half dont. Everyone says its fixed this year its fixed this year but the same problems pop up. For a season as short as ours, you really need a relaible sled. Like i said its still a nice sled and I still might get one.

With the Arctic Cat you wont get as nice a ride as a rev but still nice. I dont see as many motor problems with arctic cat, thier efi system appears to be more relaible. It is battery less which is a huge plus. Its a Suzuki motor which is a great motor. I do see ride problems tho, ski lift, etc but if you read up on it the problems are easily fixed adjusting your limiter strap and getting different skis.

Just my opinion from what i have read. Im sure Noyzee will chime in and give you his $.02. He is one of my best friends but we still have different opinions on the sleds sometimes He is riding till tomorrow. He is hard core ski doo and has 2 of them one 05 GSX 800 PT and a 97 Forumula Z. He's definately a scooby doo and yamahaha guy and has had decent luck so far.

IMO any sled you buy will be good, not anyone is nicer than the other. Each sled has its pro's and cons its just which you would rather have. Every sled can have motor problems too but some more than others. Bottom line is if you take care of it it SHOULD last. If it doesnt, then their is the warranty but its how speedy the dealer can get it back to you so you dont lose riding time.

I think i gave a pretty fair opinion of both sleds here. I don't own a sled, and I have never owned one, never ridden one yet actually. Got a few trips palnned for this season. I have started my homework now because its hard to find the right sled. YOu figure tghere are 4 major manufacturers and each one offers multiple models and then variations of model. I know ppl who have ridden nothing but arctic cat, yamaha, ski doo, and Polaris. I take what everyone says into account. Chances are if you own a certain brand you are partial to that company because you own them. I you hear alot of the same from everyone so listen, do your homework on ALL the sleds and narrow it down to one or two. If your truely undecided and liek them equally go with the one with the best price/promo/warranty.

My son and my brother have brand new F7's. They trade every year, and this is their 3rd one. Arctic has made some improvements for '06, mostly in clutching. If I were to buy a '06 Trail sled tomorrow, think I'd buy a Polaris 600 HO Fusion. They have the best HO 600 out there, IMO. Their race results don't lie. (oval ice, drags, and sno-cross). A 600 is probably the best trail sled you could buy, handling wise, especially in tight terrain...If you're a lake racer, or want to be top eliminator, well biggest motor is best, I guess..Plenty of people will probably disagree w/Polaris choice, but their quality is there--jusk like their Victory "Hammer" motorcycle. State-of-the-art and A-1 quality. All the new sleds are nice, though, and very reliable--not like the old days when you rode for 1 hour and worked on it for 6!! WJ

As mike said, im partial towards ski doo, but the reason i am is because i did alot of homework ect.
i have also ridden them all. the REV is By far the best!!! it rides like its on rails, i ride very agresive, and it is pretty easy to do on the rev platform! once you get the suspention set up right, HOLD ON!
the power is great as well, i have no problem beating or matching my buddies warrior 1000 0-90/100 mph, then from there to top speed he gets a 1/2 a bike on me, thats it.

as for the other sleds, the older ski doo's dont have the handling, The one i picked up for my girl, its SICK!!! i had a lot of fun on it this weekend, it handled better then i thought. i tweeked the suspention a little, and it handled real good.
the rev is beter, but the old style was still verry good.
The artic cat 500 sabercat was very nice, just not super fast, and didnt like the twisties as much, and the Yhamaha was FAST (its clutched and geared) but i wasnt super happy with the real low sitting position, it made trails kind of hard, and it wasnt easy to stand up to ride threw the bumpy stuff.
the F-7 was sick fast, but you had to RIDE it the hole time, even when the trail was easy ect, it seemed i had to ride this sled the hole time. it did handle pretty well, but it was a hard driver.
over all im very happy with the ski doo, but i would say to you, do your own homework, and see what works.
the gsx 600 or 800 is probably the best all around sled. fast, pretty light, all the bells and whistles, and affordable. after that i would lok at articat/yamaha depending on your $$$$ flow. if money is tight, look at the artic cat, they make a good sled.
The polaris seems to be on the edge, the turbo motor is jusk unless your in 12" of powder they over heat ect, the other sleds are ok, but not ski doo/artic cat good.

good luck, and let me know when you get one, we can go for a ripski!!!!

I tell people to buy where they can get the service.. I am a Cat dealer.. of course biased... but I like em all, F7's in general are the fastest out there..minus the now big dog machz and maybe the new yami.. But a few mods later.. and both can be taken care of.

Anyone in Rangeley this weekend let me know.. I will be there thurs-sun.

Yhea, the 600/800 seem to be a good sled.
im told alot of people that buy the mxz and save a few bucks, end up paying more because they install revers, and electric start after they buy it, so it ends up costing the same as the gsx.
good luck either way
