Default So spring is around the corner....

....and as I get my car back running, was wondering were are the new good spots to cruise/meet/race this year? I only know of a few spots from last summer but they quickly got ruined by horrible ricers.

Oh and I live in Putnam County, NY. Willing to travel pretty far too. I'm going all out this summer, might be the last that I have this car.

Marcus Dairy, Exit 3 off I84 in CT (five minute from the NY border)

Its a pretty good showing of American muscle cars, and the Sports Athority lot next to it has an informal showing of all the late modle stuff (f-bodys, stangs, a little bit of rice) Its held every saturday once the weather gets good.

Oh yeah and its absoutly free!

I use to go there last summer but no one wanted to race me! I'll go there again and see if anyone will step up. But i guess it is a good place to show off your ride.

Hell, I'll race you... I'll race anybody.

The word is that if you stick around late enough people start setting up races, long after the show cars head home.

You can also try exit 2 just about any night, its mostly all rice but I've herd rummors of some really fast cars playing down there (cobras turbo ls1s ect...) But its probibly not worth your time.

I'm going to post up here over the summer if anything really good is going down... if nothing else me and a few other chevy guys are always there, putting rice in its place!

Sounds good man. I usually use to stick around marcus and that area pretty early in the night, never really stayed after like 11pm. Guess that's what my mistake was.

We should keep in touch once summer rolls around. Keep ieach other informed and ****. I'll add you to my buddy list.

Well, Starbucks in Danbury is filled with Ricers, but you do get some fast cars that show up(Normaly on Thurs. nights). Marcus tends to be filled with Ricers also, so i go next door to Sports Authority. I heard Nathans(off Central Ave.?) is pretty popular. Let me know when your cars up and running, i'm out almost every Thurs, Fri and sat. There are a few people i hang out with in CT, a turbo camaro(99SS-T his sn on here), Mike with a Cammed Camaro, an 04 GTO, few other cars too.. You've always got Dunkin Donuts up on Rt 9, it's always packed but there are always cops near by.

I've heard that Central Ave is a pretty busy spot, haven't been there yet but have been dying to go. John's Camaro is sick, if you search the FI forums his dyno vid is on there, believe it was 661 @ 12psi. It moves! He knows how to launch it very well, hope you plan on some spray for that H/c combo..

Thumbs up

Wow I can't believe so many of us live in Putnam county.

Marcus is pretty good, I drag the wife once in a while.
Central Ave. used to be good when I was in High School (10+ years ago), the cops cracked down and there went that.

How is Central Ave now ?

LoL, it's amazing how dumb ricers really are. Nothing like buzzing around a parking lot in their weed wackers.. It really does amaze me how, for the most part, they have nice looking women getting into their POS's.. ::shrug:: Guess women don't know any better.. The Orange Camaro is john, he's out all the time. When we do go to starbucks, we don't stay to long. Last time i was there CTPD came with 4crownvic's blocked off the entrance/exit and rounded everyone up as if we were cattle. Wanted to give us tickets etc etc... Can't wait till it gets warmer.

I went to the Starbucks in Danbury once or twice. Wasn't too bad, alot of rice, but I went with an SRT4 buddy. Couple other domestics there.

Dunkin Donuts on 9 in Wappingers Falls gets a decent turnout sometimes. Hard to tell what will show, sometimes you'll get alot of rice, but others alot of old schooler muscle and Mustang guys. Whats funny is many times at 10 the cops will kick out the ricer kids, but leave the muscle car guys alone.

We need a new spot, American cars only...

I have a dream, a dream in which I can go a whole night without hearing a rice cannon, a dream in which there is no such thing as the fast and the furious...

Yea the cops aren't to bad, as long as you don't **** them off. I've seen them kick out the ricers before, it's funny cause they all **** and cry about it.

Quick story- I was up on 9 once(Near where the new Wendy's is) and all of a sudden 3 huge lifted Pickup's cut me off. So i followed them a bit, and right about where IBM is 3 old school cars got on infront of the trucks.. Nova, and two 67-69 camaro's. Next thing i know the Trucks take up all three lanes, come to a dead stop and the old school muscle start warming up the tires. I just sat back and watched the show. They lined up, and all i heard was blower wine (Guess he turn on the trans brake). Then they took off like a bat outa hell.. It was awsome, like something out of a movie.. haha..

I honestly might just start up a new spot for all us f-bodys and alikes. I got a few places in mind. And if that doesn't work out, we should all just roll together. Strength in numbers

I'm really sick of ricers trying to be fast and talking ****. I can't count how many times ricers have down talked my car and when I challenge them, they just back down. lol one of the best quotes I ever heard was from an owner of a turbo sylvia.

Ricer: Yeah man, my car is sick at 30psi! I'd smoke your car.
Me: Ok so lets go race and show me.
Ricer: Are you kidding me? In this humidity I'm losing about 100hp!
Me: ...........right

I'd be down for that, and I think alot of other guys would be too. Not just f-body guys, people with cobras, turbo buicks, classic muscle cars ect... that just dont come out becasue they got sick of all the ricer's bullsh*t.

It be nice to have a place where all of us with real cars could just get together and talk about tech, track racing, and all the other sh*t you just dont get when you go to places populated by people who think their fart can actualy makes their car fast.
