Time for the car to go "under the knife"!
I've mentioned this in a few threads before. Well, it is finally time! These are the last pictures of the car looking like a "normal" C6 convertible -
It will be getting the Z06 nose, fenders and 1/4 panels along with an RK Sport hood. There is alot being replaced so the whole car is going to be taken apart, painted and then put back together (don't want any overspray). I'm going to have them close the gap between the standard GM finish and a show car finish. Somewhere in the middle will be good.
A polished Magnuson supercharger will be going on after the car leaves the body shop in a few weeks. A set of Dynatech headers went on before the car went in for paint. I'm expecting to get close to 500 RWHP so some extra rubber will be needed. That will be wrapped around a set of polished GM Z06 wheels. 18x9.5" up front and 19x12" wheels in the rear. Z06 rotors and calipers will also be going on at that point. My seats are currently up at Vette Essentials in MI. I'm hoping to be able to head up there to pick them up by the end of the month. They will be black with yellow along the sizes. The yellow will be in the same area that Z06 seats have grey. Those colors will also flow through the rest of the interior. You can see the temporary driver's side in the corner of the last pic.
After that, it will be time to do some driving!

Centercaps? I can't afford centercaps after doing all this!
I was running 19" CCW wheels last year. I started getting alot of requests for the wheels after I mentioned that I was going to be replacing them so I figured it would be a good time to sell them. Those are my wife's 18" C5 Z06 Replica wheels. She runs those on her Z. I borrowed them to move the car around until the new ones are on.
Oh yeah, you can see the "custom seat" that I was using next to the car in the bottom pic. It was actually pretty comfortable!

They put 3 or 4 coats on the new parts yesterday and preped the rest of the panels for paint today. I should see the car going back together tomorrow.
The Chevelle belongs to someone at the shop. The owner just got an old Goat in for himself. He's starting a frame off restoration that should be done by May.
