i use a bunch of stuff but mainly the 3m professional line. you can go to any auto parts store and get a 3m cleaner wax if you dont wanna spend all afternoon using wd-40 then a polish then cleaner then a wax. it'll remove everything and shine the panel at the same time.

Haha... Polish+Cleaner+Wax on the quarters = The rest of the car will look like hell I haven't even waxed the car in 9 months

same thing as mineral spirits except it's 1.00 for a gallon, not a little container. people yell at me when i tell them it's safe so i dont even mention it to anyone but the stuff works wonders. my car was covered in spray paint (the ss) and 15 minutes of washing the car with a mitt and a few gallons of mineral spirits and there wasnt a trace of it left.

that's why i mentioned the cleaner wax stuff. it does everything in one step and the shine isnt as good as doing everything in single stages. too bad you wernt closer, i'd like to detail yellow to see how it reacts to some of my stuff; like the depth and warmth of the shine

DIESO is a professional at this detailing stuff! He helped out a friend of mine, with the mineral spirit tip, when she drove over still wet yellow lines painted on the road. His work is 2nd to none. Hey DIESO, do you still have the pics of the kick *** job you did on Curtis's Black SS?

With a black truck its hardly notcible...

it makes a good undercoating tho!

I leave it, it eventually comes off with the rain and car washes.

Just tried the wd-40.... Took allof the rubber off of one side in about 10 mins I'm glad I spent over an hour last night wasting my time I was going to try the mineral spirit's but I was too lazy to go get some. It also took off some tar and stuff that didn't come off with a wash yesterday.... can't wait to hit the rest of the car tonight... it's going to look better than it has since I picked it up a year ago... I might even hit it with a coat of wax if I have the time... Thanks for everyone's help

I drench it in wd40, wipe it then a quick wash to get the greasy black residue off.

cool, just make sure you use some really hot soapy water to wash off the wd-40 residue or else putting wax on and removing it will get really interesting

Yeah I'll do that... The wd-40 residue won't harm the paint if I leave it on over night will it? I want to keep working on it later... but won't have time to wash it until tomorrow...

Hey, did you bring that GTO to Hampton beach, NH at all last year? I parked next to one right on the board walk that looked just like yours & had mass plates? It was the weekend of 7/6-7/7... ?
