I read a few of these and I know a shop here in town, they play it safe and do the raising the car and droping the car on top of the motor/suspension rig.

Please do the same. It will work out better for you this way.

ok...u can have all the pistons and conncecting rods left...and all the main caps...just come get them....??? wat are u gonna use them for ?

I did it out the bottom. Me and one other guy did it in 5 hours, taking breaks and going to get tools we didnt have. First time, no air tools.

What I didnt get is how people disconnect everything and pick the body up over the car. I lifted the car all the way up, and put jacks under the K member and tranny and lowered it down slowly. I dunno, worked for me. I couldnt imagine pulling it out the top and having to undo all that crap. I barely had to disconnect anything to drop it out the bottom, and everything stayed with it.
