I've got one... I played with it alot & if you get good at setting it up it will be more accurate. I set it up in one of my uncles cars... It was pretty consistant running around 13.5 Took the car to the track a week later and ran 3- 13.3's. But no matter what I did the mph was always high... It's fun to play with (I've run it in every car me or my parents have ever owned ) But it'll only give you a rough idea... The trick is to be very **** when you calibrate it and to make sure you use a very level straight strech of road...

How much of a pain are these things to set up? I want to get one, but my parents would through a fit. I would have to take it down after everytime I used it to hide it, and was wondering if it was worth the effort.

My mom wouldn't notice, but my dad would. If I told him it was an XM reciever, he'd either be curious in general and want to check it out, or he'd think I was trying to sneek a radar detector by him. Can't wait to move out.

I have the old one. I tried it at the track and ran a 12.1@117 and the gtech said 12.8@113. It's has to be calibrated perfectly to give you a good idea. I never tried the expensive one (i think it's called the gtech pro competition or something) but I heard that's pretty good because it doesn't have to be leveled perfectly like the other one.

I have the g-tech pro... it's easier to calibrate than the old one... much more user friendly, but you still need to take your time if you want the numbers to come close...

It comes with a suction cup mount onto the windshield. Just take it down and put it back in the box and they'll never know you have it!

I've got the Competition Pro model, and it's pretty darn close.
