Default Tuning 99 SS Vortech Blown

I need to know of someone local that would have some time to tune a 99 SS with a cam, LT's, ORY, Vortech non-intercooled kit, small pulley, etc. The car is a friends' and he needs a tune bad. The car should rip but it just won't run right. I was thinking ESP but I wasn't sure of how backed up they were and I just haven't had a chance to call.

Any suggestions? Experiences? PM me if you need to, but I like to support some of the sponsors on here.

Thanks,
Jim

We would be happy to do it but aren't too local to you. Call up ESP I'm sure they can take care of you.

There is also Dez Racing in Mass which isn't far away from where you live, and Cartek in NJ

PM Slowhawk. He has a great deal of experience tunning Forced Induction cars. He does all the LS1 & LS2 tunning for Dez Racing in seakonk MA. Phone # 508-336-6588

I can't say enough good things about Don. He really takes great care of all his customers. I highly reccomend him over any other tunners in the area.

Thanks for the suggestions, I appreciate it. I'll give those guys a call tomorrow. Has anyone seen what kind of numbers that vortech kit is usually good for? I know it's not the greatest kit in the world, but he got a crazy deal on the car.

Right now it's only good for about 5-6psi and it just doesn't pull like I would expect. I don't see too many people with that setup...is there a good reason for that?

They do OK at best without an intercooler.Vortechs are very peaky.Ussually nothing down low/midrange then go nut's at the top like a 2 stroke dirtbike. The tune has to be dead nut's because the inlet temp goes up quickly. I always suggest to make sure the intake temp sensor is in the pipe between the Supercharger and intake so it can read the inlet temp.If not you can risk the motor.
