Default Island last friday

So I went to Island dragway for my first time last friday and noticed alot of cars seem to be running fairly slow. The fastest c6 ran 13.3, a viper srt-10 ran 12.6, an 03 cobra ran in the 14's, as did an 05 stang gt. Are these normal times for island? I want to know what I should be happy with when I finally run my car there.

It seems to be about the same thing I've noticed when I've been there (3 trips so far).

It's hard to account for driver error. On fridays they don't prep the track the greatest cause they get a lot of newbies that don't know how to do a burn out anyway and carry water out from not doing the right burnout and more than half the cars there on a friday run street tires. They set up cones to keep everyone out of the sticky groved part of the track. When they would line me up in the grove I would pull 1.5 60ft.'s with a 26" tire.Island is also the slowest track when compared to E-town, LVD, and Atco. But you do get a lot of passes in compared to the other 3

I thought LVD was a slow track.

Island is quicker than LVD in my experience, though its been a couple years since i've run at Island. I'd gain about 1mph consistently of trap speed at Island.

LVD is at 550', I believe Island is almost at sea level. Don't know what else it is about LVD, but they get some bad DA's (anytime its above 70 you're pretty much running in +1500' DA or more)

well if the 05 GT was running the same times as the Cobra it's gotta be bad driving in the Cobra. What was everyone's trap speed like? If they were low too than it means the air was bad as well, if not it's driving/track prep. Or it could be both. I could barely get into the 2.0s for the 60' on a street radial on street night but on sundays i could do it with no problem.

There is no way island is at sea level. You don't remeber the uphill drive to get there? My suv does from towing my car. I like island better only because it is a low profile track and you can usally get a lot of runs in there compared to LVD or E-town. I have run back to back days at both E-town and Island and the car was 1 tenth quicker at E-town but had more fun getting in more passes at island

My buddy raced his 310rwhp 99 C5 M6 three fridays ago at Island. His best run was a 13.8 @ 103.xx w/ 2.1 60'. His 60' wasnt bad, but his mph is way down. His best trap for the day was 104. probably DA was hurting him.
