you can take amtrack from south station... i'd just check their webpage for prices and schedules.

you can also take the "Fung Wah" bus, which goes from china town in Boston, to china town in NYC. i know it used to be only $10 a few years ago, but i'm sure its gone up. i've never taken it, but know a few people who have. its just a simple direct bus ride, and i believe they make one stop at a gas station half way for food and bathroom breaks.

I use to take greyhound back to NY when I lived in boston. It was like $50 for a roundtrip ticket and the trip took usuaslly 4 hours.

great stuff! i already got an apartment. theyre pretty darn expensive here. found a studio for 1,100 a month, but thats includes heat hot water etc... and is a completely renovated bldg + is right next to BU... so thats fine...

right now were taking the "B" green line on comm ave to get to downtown boston... is that considered commuter rail? or is that just the regular subway

green, red, orange, and blue are the subway lines. purple are the commuter rails. wait til college starts back up. at night the B line will be packed.

its already pretty busy lol... but yeah i got the idea of how the T works more or less...

are there any large discount stores in the area? walmart? kmart etc? i cant seem to find any

you arent gonna find any of those in downtown boston. i think the closest you might find somethgin like that is in somerville or medford. somewhere around that area.

yeah i heard about that... but since its $15 one way, thats $30 return.. and greyhound is like $45 so i guess ill just take that...

well, been in boston around a month or so, more or less settled. got an apartmnet for 1100 in comm ave near BU. its great, the T stops right outside our apartment, theres a huge shaws supermarket accross the street, lot of restaurants, seems pretty safe.
