I used the Duplicolor stuff. A friend had some left over black and I bought a kit w/red paint. I decided to do the calipers in red and the brackets in Black. I just took off the front tires and cleaned the calipers& brackets. I used a whole can of brake cleaner per wheel. I had to wire brush them clean. I wish I had done the slotted & cross drilled rotors too.

Did you take the caliper off?

I've been thinking about picking this kit up, so I'd like your opinion on the final outcome. Give it a 1-10 rateing.

Black came out great. First coat was great. It looked like it did not even need another coat. I did give it 2 coats anyway. Red was kind of crappy coverage. I did 6 coats of the red. Final outcome was good. I just want to know how well they will hold up. I did not take the calipers off. Just painted what I could see. Taking them off would be the beat way to do it.

Dave, a little tip. When painting the calipers--which get real hot, use a flat white exhaust header primer spray can. Let it dry good, then you'll only need 2 coats tops of the red Dupli-color. Try it--you will not need 1/2 the amount of red for good coverage. The white primer works great on a bare metal, or a formerly rusted piece for a great topcoat of whatever color you're using. WJ

Thanks, but too late. I already covered both front calipers with one coat already. I may take them off and have them powder coated over the winter.

No air compressor. Took Gary & Bob on the breaker bar with a 3' piece of pipe on it to break the last one loose.

Spray-bombing in hot, humid weather usually gives poor results. Next time you're starting w/bare, clean metal, try the flat white route.... WJ

Front's are done. I'll post pic's in a while.

I should have listened to Don, and done the pully when I did the cam.
I had no idea the pully would be such a bitch to get off. I don't want to have to remove the radiator again, just to do the pully.
