So much for getting a car this year I've been in the process of getting major dental work done. I had braces put on 2 years ago per the recommendation of my dentist. Well I got them off last week finally. Today I went in for my consultation with my dentist. She tells me $9000 to do the job. I have no choice at this point but to go foward with it. After spending $4500 on the braces to get my teeth straight I have to finish the next step. So I'll have $14,500 invested into my teeth after I'm all said and done. All I can say is in the end it will be worth it and I will be very happy. I've been waiting for this day for over 20 years. I think a new car can wait, unless someone wants to donate the $9000 for a good cause

Your doing the right thing Marco. I have spent a ton of money on my kids teeth because its something thats very important. We did the braces and now he is have more teeth put in. he was born with no eye teeth. 
When it's all said and done I will have about 13 to 15 grand in his mouth but what can ya do.

Dude the dentist sucks big time. I hate going. I have had my braces for going on 6 years because I was afraid to go back. I went back for the first time about a week ago. I legit almost passed out in the chair. When she was all done she told me to take it easy getting up and I almost fell over I was so light headed. They wanted to take x-rays and do a cleaning to inspect my teeth. Well the xrays came back....no root damage and my wisdom teeth aren't impacted and they are coming in straight....and after the cleaning the lady looked all over and I don't have a cavity. I have never gotten one 
I don't know how or why but she said i'm very very lucky. Now I have a appointment to go back and move a couple more teeth then they are off. I have no dental but the braces were paid in full all that time ago and they are only charging me to take them off 600 bucks and for a cleaning which is like 70 bucks I think. I know i'm a moron but you don't understand I hate the dentist with a passion. But enough was enough and I needed to get it taken care of. 9000 bucks

I know I'm new here but...... have you looked around for other prices? I agree your teeth are more important than a car. The longer you go without addressing it the worse it'll get. There will always be cars for sale. A few members of my family had some major dental work done. My mother for example had a FULL SET of perm. replacements for just a little more than what you are about to spend. Just a suggestion, but I'd consider getting at least a second opinion if not a third too.

My dentist referred me to this guy who I am going to see on Sept. 7th. He's supposed to be the best around. I rather pay the premium to have someone do it right the first time. I'm really not sweating the cost..if she told me it was $20,000 I'd still be doing it. I waited long enough and you guys have no idea what it was like growing up with basically no teeth in your mouth.
